Basic black is a classic, especially when it comes to mascara. But once in a while, color makes all the difference. Here are a four tips for wearing mascara in different hues to make those lashes really stand out.
*Play Match Match
A simple way to add some pop to your peepers is to complement the mascara shade to your eye color. L'Oréal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara comes in a variety of shades, each of which tells you which tint pairs well with which eye color (for example, Black Copper for Blue Eyes). The wand has a brush on each end, one which builds volume and length and one that delivers an illuminating top coat.
*Get a Fringe Benefit
Blue-black or navy mascara will help your eyes appear whiter and more awake. Another eye-enhancing trick is to use black mascara on the entire lashes and to coat the fringes with colored mascara. Wear a lash primer, as a base coat. This will help emphasize the pigments.
*Don't Overdo the Eye Shadow
Makeup artists recommend wearing colored mascara with both light and dark neutral eye shadows during the day. If you want a more glamorous look at night, pair a colored mascara with eye shadows that have a subtle shimmer.
*Aim for Soft, Pretty Lip Shades
When wearing colored mascara, focus your look on your eyes. On your lips, opt for sheer versus highly pigmented shades. Try: The Body Shop Lily Cole Hi-Shine Lip Treatment.
How to make your lip color last for hours before touching it up ; You can make any lipstick go the distance by following these steps. After applying a coat of lipstick, blot it with a single-ply tissue. Then use a large eye shadow brush to dust the lips with a small amount of translucent powder. Follow with another layer of lipstick. Finally blot and powder twice before applying a final swipe of lipstick. Your lipstick will last up to 12 hours or more if you do it right :)
