Stephanie? Why why why ?

Stephanie was born in Kuwait. Later, because of the Gulf War, her family came to Sri Lanka — with a Sri Lankan father, a Lebanese mother, and four children. She completed her primary education in Sri Lanka and then went on to Italy and Canada.

In Canada, at Concordia University in Montreal, Stephanie changed the direction of her life. That is where she earned a degree in Journalism, Communications, and Political Science.

After that, Stephanie returned to Sri Lanka and established a foundation to stand up for and support abused girls in the country. So, in many cases, compared to so-called “doctors” who falsely claim to have qualifications, Stephanie is actually more qualified to carry out prison inspection work — because this is exactly what she studied.

The real issue is this: why is there so much mudslinging against a woman?

In Sri Lanka, actresses like Paba and others came to Parliament and left. Even back then, people behaved the same way. Why is it that a woman is not allowed to come to a high position? Not allowed to go forward? Not allowed to work?

I suggest that everyone watch the movie G.I. Jane. It’s a film based on the first woman to take part in training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. That training is so extremely difficult mentally and physically that even many men cannot endure it. So think about what it means to be a woman.

Stephanie, too, is one of our own a sister from our own society. Think twice before using filthy language.

If it’s possible to be born from a woman’s womb, then is it forbidden for her to wear a crown?

She has more qualifications than some degree holders in the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). Unlike them, she does not have fake certificates.

So let her be who she is
