Are All Microbes Bad?
When most people hear the word microbes, they immediately think of disease, or danger. But here’s the truth: not all microbes are bad in fact, most of them are essential for life.
Here's Why 👇
Beneficial microbes live in your body, on your skin, and all around your environment. They:
âś” Help digest food and produce vitamins
âś” Protect against harmful pathogens by outcompeting them
âś” Play key roles in agriculture and food production (think yogurt, cheese, and fermented foods)
The “Bad” Microbes Yes, some microbes can cause disease and are harmful. These are known as pathogens. They:
âś“ Invade the body and damage cells
âś“ Produce toxins
âś“ Trigger infections like cholera, tuberculosis, or malaria
But here’s the key point: they are the minority.
💡 Champ’s Take ✍🏿
Instead of fearing all microbes, we should understand them. The same microscopic world that can make us sick is also the one that keeps us alive.
So next time you hear “Microbes” remember: not all microbes are enemies

Monkeypox declared a public health emergency in Africa
Mpox, the high infectious disease that used to be called monkeypox, has been declared a public health emergency in Africa by the continent’s top health body.
Scientists from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) say they are alarmed by the speed at which a new strand of pox has been spreading.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 13,700 cases and 450 deaths have been recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The virus, which can cause lesions across the whole body, has spread to other African countries, including Burundi, the Central African Republic (CAR) Kenya, and Rwanda.

# # Embracing Healthy Drinking Habits: A Guide to Staying Hydrated and Mindful
In a world filled with endless options for beverages, it's easy to lose sight of the importance of maintaining healthy drinking habits. Our bodies rely on proper hydration to function optimally, and choosing the right drinks can make a big difference in our overall health. In this blog post, we'll explore some tips for healthy drinking that you can incorporate into your daily routine.
# # # 1. **Stay Hydrated**
Water is essential for our bodies to function properly. It helps regulate body temperature, supports digestion, and aids in nutrient absorption. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses (64 ounces) of water per day, adjusting for your activity level and climate. Carry a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
# # # 2. **Limit Sugary Drinks**
Sugary drinks, such as soda and energy drinks, can contribute to weight gain, dental problems, and an increased risk of chronic diseases. Opt for healthier alternatives like water, herbal teas, or naturally flavored water with fruits and herbs.
# # # 3. **Mind Your Caffeine Intake**
Caffeine can provide a quick energy boost, but too much can lead to restlessness, anxiety, and disrupted sleep. Keep your caffeine consumption moderate—around 400 milligrams per day for adults, which is roughly equivalent to 4 cups of brewed coffee.
# # # 4. **Choose Nutrient-Rich Drinks**
Certain beverages offer health benefits beyond hydration. For example, green tea is rich in antioxidants, and milk provides calcium and vitamin D. Incorporate these nutrient-rich drinks into your diet while being mindful of added sugars.
# # # 5. **Be Conscious of Alcohol Consumption**
Moderate alcohol consumption may have some health benefits, but excessive drinking can lead to serious health problems. Practice mindful drinking by setting limits and choosing lower-alcohol options when possible.

WHAT ARE VITAMINS??
Vitamins are organic substances, this means they are substances from living materials (sources). Our body needs vitamins to develop and function properly which makes them an important part of our diet. You can get all the vitamins you need from a healthy diet. NOTE: the body needs vitamins only in small amounts.
