The Bulgarian Rose factory was founded in 1948 on the basis of distilleries for processing essential-oil raw materials, which existed in the valley of Karlovo. In the beginning the factory is run as an independent production facility, but after the State Economic Organization named PHARMACHIM was established it took the Bulgarian Rose factory over its control. Until the 60s, the production process
in the factory is seasonal and involves production of essential oils – rose, lavender and mint, as well as concretes- rose and lavender, and absolutes – rose and lavender. But the needs of Bulgarian developing perfumery & cosmetics industry impose the production of synthetic aromatic substances. The following year, also in Karlovo, a production shop for soap compositions was created, as its products were intended to aromatise soap, detergents and domestic chemistry agents. Two scientific research groups were organized in order to render to the synthetic aromatic substances and compositions’ production process. At the beginning of 1973 new products are implemented – sauces and compositions for aromatizing to***co, as well as compositions for toothpastes. In 1976 the factories from Karlovo, Kazanluk, Plovdiv, Gorna Oriahovitsa and Shumen were merged into a state combined organization named BULGARSKA ROSA with the headquarters in Karlovo. A DEVELOPMENT & IMPLEMENTATION BASE was established the same year. Its experts were dealing with solution of current problems and, at the same time, they were developing and putting into production a number of new technologies and products. During that period of time the factory came as the leading producer of natural rose water and lavender spirit. In 1981 a series of phyto shampoos was developed and put into production, as through years the number of their article went up to nine. During the period of 1983 – 1996 the Bulgarian Rose company underwent a number of transformations. In 1997 the company was privatized and transformed into a joint-stock enterprise. 2000 the development and implementation of cosmetics products takes the start, by which the production cycle is closed – from the production of raw substances for perfumery and cosmetics – to the final products. employs highly qualified technological staff of a many-year experience in the field of cosmetics product development in accordance with the contemporary world trends. Each employee of the company is fully responsible for their work quality. Since 28.04.2001 a Quality Control System has been implemented; it was developed and is functioning in accordance with the requirements of a number of international standards ISO 9000, as it was made modeling the ISO 9001:2008. The company possesses a Test Laboratory, which in 1994 received its first accreditation from the STANDARDIZATION & METROLOGY COMMITTEE in accordance with BDS EN 45003:1993. Bulgarska rosa is a recognized manufacturer of:
- natural aromatic products - essential oils, natural water obtained by distillation
(rose, lavender, chamomile, melissa, sage, etc.) and extraction products;
- perfumery and cosmetic products;
- synthetic flavoring substances;
- perfume compositions and flavors;
- sauces and flavors for to***co industry
At the same time the company continues the development and production of new perfumery and cosmetics assortments.
