Dear clients,
The colour of your natural colour, meaning the one you were born with will play a role with how your hair will lift and look when going lighter. The darker your hair is to begin with, the warmer it is going to lift and just FYI EVERYBODY's hair lifts warm 👩🦰👩🦰 So stop telling us your hair "pulls warm". The client on the left was lifted from a natural level 1 to a level 9 while the client on the right was lifted from a level 7 to a 9 which means the one on the right skipped the orange and yellow-orange stage which makes her blonde cleaner and brighter naturally. Think about lightening the hair like stair steps. The more steps you have to climb the more porous your hair will become with each step. Because of this it is more difficult to keep and maintain your blond hair👩🦳 without regular maintenance. This also means that because your hair goes through more warm stages than someone with lighter hair naturally it will also become brassy much easier than someone with naturally light hair. Your natural colour will also
play a role in what tone of blonde👩🦳 will look best on you. If your hair is naturally warm your blonde will look best if it compliments the natural so bright and warm blondes look best on you. If your hair is naturally dark or cool i usually recommend highlights that are neutral and not super ashy unless its a full bleach out because when you put very ashy tones into dark hair with dimension it can sometimes look flat, grey, or muddy because it lacks reflection. I know that it's easy to scroll through pictures on social media and fall in love with someone else's hair but that doesn't always mean it will look good on you. I also dont recommend coloring or lifting your natural base to a lighter shade in hopes of looking like the girls hair who is naturally light unless you like warm. We (stylist) CANNOT make your hair lighter and ashy. Can we make you lighter? Yes
Can we make it ashy? Yes Will it stay that way? NO. I understand not liking warmth in your hair but there is a big difference between refined bright blonde and brassy
My best advice to clients is to look for pictures of hair that is similar to yours.
