Gracias hermanas🙏🏼💗

There are different ways women refer to their ge****ls: from "down there", to va**na, to v***a, to yoni and to p***y. We may think it is all the same and maybe even that it doesn't really matter.
But doesn't it?

First of all I want to invite you to stop saying down there. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Your ge****ls are beautiful and powerful part of your body. As Dr. Christiane Northrup states in her book "women's bodies, women's wisdom": "It's crucial that we tell the truth about the cultural programming that makes the lower ge***al areas so problematic for so many women. Western culture has considered the ge***al area 'dirty' and defiles it by this attitude. Every function associated with the ge****ls - birthing, bleeding, s*x, and elimination - is highly charged emotionally and psychologically. Since childhood, most of us have picked up the idea that this part of our body is different from other parts: it is taboo, dirty and unworthy. (..)."

When women say va**na they often actually mean the v***a, which consists of all the parts that make up the external female ge***alia whereas the Va**na is a passageway between the v***a and cervix.

The word Va**na comes from Latin and originally meant "sheath for a sword" - "(..) or the sheath for a p***s, an example of a Woman's body being defined only in reference to men."

The word Yoni comes from Sanskrit and means:

• womb
• source
• sacred temple
• portal to Universe
• source of creation
• the origin
• abode
• nest

More and more women have also started to use the word p***y to refer to their ge****ls and womb. This word is often associated with a negative meaning. We call somebody a "p***y" to express their weakness. Many women feel uncomfortable hearing p***y and wouldn't dare to say it out loud. The word p***y isn't dirty, it is what we have been told about it that makes us feel anything less than comfortable saying it.

However you choose to call your ge****ls, remember that the different words have different energies. Words have power. Choose wisely, after all we are talking about a sacred gateway to life, the seat of Shakti, the Goddess and the force of creation.
