Información general
On Saturday, October 15, 2011, from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., the 2nd annual Baja Book Festival, with title sponsor Ocean’s Aura Spa Products, will be held at the charming La Casa Vieja gallery in Ensenada’s wine country, the Valle de Guadalupe. With the support of the Baja Secretary of Tourism and a host of participants and sponsors, the event presents a day of Baja’s best, from authors to restaurants to artists, musicians and winemakers. Last year’s festival – which attracted more than 600 people -- featured 20 authors including Greg Niemann, Marsh Cassady, Peter Fowler, Mikel Miller, Judy Botello, Tom Gatch, Melinda Bates and others, and a Children’s Magical Reading Room. In 2011, event organizers are anticipating an even stronger turn-out and more authors than ever. In addition, local winemakers will be represented at the festival offering tastings and wines for purchase.
There will be a variety of food stalls (including La Casa Vieja’s grilled meats and the famous fish tacos from Splash! restaurant) and work by local artisans. Vendors are welcome, and last year’s event featured artists including Martina, jewelry makers, crafters, Ocean’s Flavor Sea Salts, and more. The book festival logo, which features the 2010 venue for the event, was designed by renowned artist Francisco Cabello.
“We are delighted to be the title sponsors of this year’s book festival,” said Mona Key, marketing director for Oceans Aura (an Oceans Flavor company). “We think the beauty and serenity of Baja’s wine valley combined with the artistic nature of the event is a great match for our products, which we’ll be introducing.” Oceans Aura’s product line includes first-of-a-kind low sodium bath salts, skin conditioners, soaps, body scrubs and reed diffusers.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event, or being a vendor, contact Jo Ann Knox, [email protected], US 619-630-1170, or Carla White, [email protected], in Ensenada, 646-155-4008. Information about the 2011 event is available at www.bajabookfestival.com.
