With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Dr. Gabor B. Racz (1937–2025) , a pioneer in interventional pain medicine and the visionary behind the procedure and devices that became the foundation of Epimed.

Dr. Racz’s contributions transformed the field of pain management. His innovations included but were not limited to the Racz® Catheter and the epidural lysis of adhesions procedure, commonly known as the Racz® Procedure, which has helped improve the lives of countless patients suffering from chronic pain. Beyond his technical achievements, Dr. Racz was a mentor to physicians around the world, a tireless advocate for education, and a deeply compassionate clinician.

His legacy lives on in the work of the global pain community, in the continued education offered through Racz Lab workshops, and in the mission that his family and the Epimed team carry forward each day: to minimize risk and improve outcomes for every procedure, every time.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the many clinicians who were inspired by his life and work.

Dr. Racz, thank you for the path you opened—for your patients, your colleagues, and for us.
