What is SLS & SLES? What are the difference between these two? 🤔

It is said that SLS is actually the parent chemical that is modified to make SLES and SLES is said to be gentler & less harsh than SLS. Both are functioning as surfactants and widely used & commercialized to create foam & cleaning action. They are also cheaper to produce.

However, certain individuals can still get irritants from these two. If you're suffering from sensitive skin or conditions such as dermatitis, SLS/SLES can worsen the skin condition which can results to dry & cracked skin.

In terms of shampoo, it has also been linked that shampoos with SLS can cause weakening of hair & thus causing hair loss due to it often remaining in hair follicles long after washing. This cause them to weaken over extended periods of time.
