The Durian Hotel — once a known landmark along J.P. Laurel Avenue — now at 2025 it sits quiet and unused, with no visible signs of renovation. An abandoned shell of what was once part of Davao’s cityscape identity.
Victoria Plaza — one of Davao’s first major malls.
Opened in 1993, this place used to be the center of weekend life before the city grew into what it is today.
Now, the building stands quieter — aged, faded, but still a familiar landmark along J.P. Laurel Avenue.
Recently acquired by the Villar Group, the site is planned for future redevelopment.
For many Davaoeños, Victoria Plaza is not just a mall — it’s a memory of the old Davao we grew up with.
