Our Story
The Hipster Pomade initial idea was to create a home-grown product that would be in alignment with the interest of Gen X & Y. An extensive research into the market and current trends shows that vintage-style hair salons are now growing like mushrooms in Malaysia and has greatly influenced the lifestyle of the urban population.
This was when the idea evolved into a pomade product after close observation on how the influential Hipster community has impacted the minds of the current generation today. Pomades used to have a widespread use during the twentieth century with stars like Elvis and James Dean rocking the “rockabilly pompadour” hairstyles. Now, in the twenty first century we are somewhat seeing a comeback and have garnered a cult following. With a local following building, the need for a locally made brand was soon realized.
This intriguing factor further elevates the appeal and chances of penetrating this niche market successfully. By 2015, the founders decided that it’s high time HIPSTER POMADE made a grand launch to introduce itself as the next must-have hairstyling product and it has successfully done so under its parent company, Haircrafter International Sdn. Bhd.
