My name is Zelda Jacobs, currently 38 years old, and diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Syndrome during March 2012.

During the year 2000 I started experiencing uncomfortable pain in my legs. As this worsened, I consulted my GP who diagnosed the condition as restless legs. I was put on medication normally used by patients with depression. I was told that this medication was used for its side effects and that it would calm the nerves. The use of this medication however resulted in tremors throughout my whole body, I became depressed, extremely emotional and never minded and struggled to function normally.

I revisited the GP who decided to put me on medication normally used by patients with Parkinson’s disease. The tremors persisted and I decided to consult my GP and a physician again. I was admitted to hospital and was tested for various medical conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Meningitis and Lupus etc. The only problem they could find was a very low iron count. I was treated for this, however the symptoms were back very soon.

I had no choice but to live with the condition, which was steadily getting worse, for many years. Eventually I could not manage the pain anymore and decided to consult a different GP. Her diagnoses was that I most probably suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis. For preventative purposes I was also tested for Thyroid problems, which came back negative. I was placed on beta blockers and eventually also on Salazopyrin. This opened up a whole new can of worms, as I was getting weaker, not being able to open bottles or hold on to a glass, experiencing more intense pain and was feeling worse and more depressed by the day. My husband suffered extremely as a result of my condition as I was crying all the time and did not want to live anymore. I eventually decided to visit a different Physician in order to confirm the diagnoses. The result – I definitely had Rheumatoid Arthritis and should carry on with the medication.

This carried on for about 4 months and eventually, out of frustration, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I contacted a Rheumatologist, which resulted in the diagnoses of Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I was ordered to use a combination of Trepiline, Tramacet, Panado and Lyrica in order to assist deeper and more relaxing sleep and for pain management purposes. Initially the combination of medication helped, but during the past year the symptoms started getting much worse. I experienced pain, swelling and discomfort throughout my whole body. I was extremely sensitive to touch, experienced constant pain in all areas surrounding joints and constantly suffered from headaches. The slightest variation to my diet resulted in discomfort and pain, I was gaining weight due to a swollen body and felt totally out of control. This resulted in depression in addition to all the other symptoms which included extreme pain in my shoulders, arms, hands, legs and other joints.

At this point I was introduced to Cathy Louw, also a Fibromyalgia Syndrome sufferer, through a friend of my mother’s. I initially thought it could not be true as out of desperation I bought expensive medication that was advertised in a local magazine, without any success. I thought that this would just be another product that would not help. Eventually, out of frustration and a very real cry for help, I contacted Cathy. She listened to my whole history of pain and discomfort and introduced me to Colostem and Alpha Lipid Lifeline. I started using the products about two months ago and after about 3 weeks I already experienced a decrease in pain/discomfort. After about 5 weeks since I started using the products I experienced my 1st pain free day in many years. Although I still experience some degree of pain, Colostem and Alpha Lipid Lifeline is busy changing my life. I can once again do the things I normally did, move in ways I could not for many years, and really give an honest testimony that these products gave me back my life!

I must however thank God for this product and for placing a wonderful angel named Cathy in my life. She assisted me with a healthy eating plan which included the removal of caffeine and her constant help is of great value to my day to day existence.

I thank God for her and for pain free days, and as she always puts it – I want to shout it from the rooftops!
