KUALA LUMPUR: Kadar kebolehjangkitan (Rt) COVID-19 di Malaysia mencatatkan nilai 0.95 semalam, namun sebanyak 10 negeri dan wilayah mencatatkan kadar Rt melebihi purata kebangsaan.

Ia berdasarkan data dikongsi Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah di Facebook, tengah malam tadi, yang menunjukkan jumlah negeri yang melebihi purata Rt kebangsaan meningkat berbanding hanya sembilan negeri semalam dan lapan negeri antara 26 Mac hingga kelmarin.

Kadar tertinggi dicatatkan Labuan dengan 1.30, disusuli Pahang (1.17), Kelantan (1.10), Pulau Pinang (1.09), Melaka (1.09), Kedah (1.04), Putrajaya (1.02), Sabah (1.02), Sarawak (0.99) dan Kuala Lumpur (0.97), di samping

Johor yang merekodkan nilai sama dengan purata kebangsaan iaitu 0.95.

Bagaimanapun, nilai Rt kebangsaan masih berada pada unjuran menurun dan jika ia mampu diturunkan sehingga ke tahap 0.8, jumlah kes harian COVID-19 dijangka mencatat dua angka menjelang akhir bulan depan.

Data itu menegaskan nilai Rt mampu diturunkan sekiranya semua pihak mematuhi prosedur operasi standard (SOP) yang digariskan seperti memakai pelitup muka, menjaga penjarakan fizikal dan beberapa peraturan lain membabitkan aktiviti ekonomi dan sosial.

Bagaimanapun, sekiranya nilai Rt kebangsaan melonjak kepada 1.2, jumlah kes harian COVID-19 diunjurkan menghampiri 3,000 sehari sekiranya SOP diabaikan.

Nilai Rt merujuk kepada tahap kebolehjangkitan sesuatu virus, iaitu berapa ramai individu yang boleh dijangkiti oleh satu kes positif. Semakin rendah nilai itu, semakin kurang kemungkinan jangkitan bagi setiap kes positif.

Sebagai contoh, jika nilai Rt adalah 1.5, ia bererti satu kes positif boleh menyebarkannya kepada seorang atau dua orang yang lain.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,178 new Covid-19 cases and six fatalities were recorded in Malaysia over the last 24 hours.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 1,377 recovered cases were also reported, taking the total number of recoveries to 331,001.

“Of the new cases, 1,158 were local transmissions while 20 others were imported cases.

“A total of 163 individuals are being treated at the intensive care unit including 81 people on ventilator support,” he said in a statement on Covid-19 development here, today.

Dr Noor Hisham said the states with the most number of cases were Sarawak with 238 cases followed by Selangor (237); Penang (190); Johor (165); Kuala Lumpur (101); Sabah (86); Negeri Sembilan (34); Kedah (32); Perak (31); Kelantan (27); Pahang (14); Melaka (nine); Labuan (seven); Terengganu (six); and Putrajaya (one); while no new cases were reported in Perlis.

Meanwhile, six new clusters were identified involving five workplace-related clusters in Selangor (Bukit Serdang and Jalan Sungai Ramal); Johor (Jalan Permas Cetak and Kait Gading) and Penang (Jalan Teluk Kumbar); and a community cluster, namely the Taman Emas Cluster in Pahang.

Dr Noor Hisham said a total of 1,016 clusters have ended including 14 today.

KOTA KINABALU: Akibat menegur cara pemanduan pemandu lain di lampu isyarat, seorang lelaki patah tujuh gigi serta cedera di kepala dan tangan selepas dibelasah dalam kejadian di Jalan Kolam, di sini, pada Isnin.

Keadaan kemudiannya menjadi tidak terkawal sehingga pemandu Perodua Alza terbabit dikatakan bertindak memecahkan cermin kereta mangsa dengan menggunakan batang besi.
Ketua Polis Daerah Kota Kinabalu ACP Habibi Majinji berkata, menurut laporan diterima, suspek turut dikatakan memukul mangsa di kepala dan tangan menggunakan batang besi berkenaan.
Katanya, suspek kemudiannya masuk semula ke dalam kenderaannya dan terus meninggalkan lokasi kejadian.
“Mangsa yang cedera kemudiannya dibantu orang awam untuk keluar dari kenderaan. Dia kemudiannya menghubungi ahli keluarga sebelum dibawa mendapatkan rawatan di hospital berhampiran.
“Setakat ini, suspek berusia 36 tahun itu sudah dikenal pasti dan usaha memburunya sedang giat dijalankan,” katanya ketika dihubungi, hari ini.
Habibi berkata, kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 326 Kanun Keseksaan kerana mendatangkan kecederaan.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it would be up to the relevant authorities on how to handle these "VIPs" who had flouted the law.

"As I have always said, nobody is above the law. Not even the VIPs or the non-VIPs. All of us are bound by the law and whoever breaks it will be held accountable.

"I have been getting images and complaints on a daily basis about those who openly flout the standard operating procedures (SOP)," he said in a press conference.

Ismail Sabri said the rules and regulations were put in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I'm trying to explain that the government provides the rules and regulations, including setting up the amount for compounds.

"However, it is up to the police or the Health Ministry or those empowered under Act 342 (Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988) to take action against the offenders."

On this, Ismail Sabri urged those who knew of anyone including "big names" that breached the SOP by alerting the authorities so that appropriate action could be taken against the offenders.

"I too will forward the photos that have been sent to me to the authorities since it is not up to me to take action against the offenders," he said, thanking those who had shared information regarding SOP violators with him.

On inter-state travel, he said, it would be up to the Health Ministry to propose either to allow or ban it.

"Each decision made during the National Security Council's (NSC) special meeting for Covid-19 management is backed by the Health Ministry's data and risk assessments.

"Hence the decision to allow interstate travel or 'balik kampung' for this year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri can only be done based on the Health Ministry's recommendations.

"The prime minister will give his view of what is likely to happen, but the special meeting committees will discuss further, taking into account the Health Ministry's recommendations and advice.

"The same approach is used to decide on whether to place a state under MCO, Conditional MCO or Recovery MCO. The ministry will conduct risk assessment and observe the situation based on the Covid-19 infectivity rate as well as the r-Naught values," he said.

"I understand that many are praying to go back to their hometown for Hari Raya. We have to gauge how things are developing and what the Health Ministry's analysis shows."
