🤲 Tremor vs Kekejangan Otot
Nampak sama, sebenarnya berbeza.
Contoh: Tangan bergetar ketika memegang cawan.
🔹 Kekejangan Otot
Contoh: Otot kaki tiba-tiba kejang ketika tidur.
🧠 Kenapa Penting Bezakan?

🤲 Tremor vs Muscle Spasm
They may look similar, but they are not the same.
Many people confuse tremors with muscle spasms because both involve involuntary movement. However, the causes and management are very different.
🔹 Tremor
✔️ Rhythmic shaking or repetitive movement
✔️ Occurs even when the muscle is relaxed
✔️ Usually related to the nervous system
✔️ Can appear at rest or during movement
✔️ Commonly associated with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, or neurological conditions
Example: Hands shaking while holding a cup.
🔹 Muscle Spasm
✔️ Sudden tightening or cramping of a muscle
✔️ Often painful
✔️ Commonly caused by fatigue, dehydration, poor posture, or muscle strain
✔️ Usually short-lasting
✔️ Does not involve rhythmic shaking
Example: A sudden leg cramp during sleep.
🧠 Why Is It Important to Know the Difference?
Because the treatment approach is different.
Tremors often require neurological assessment and rehabilitation, while muscle spasms can usually be managed with stretching, strengthening exercises, and physical therapy.
💡 If involuntary movements persist or worsen, early assessment is important.

(Tremor)
(Muscle Spasm)

What is Gout?
Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid in the blood. When uric acid levels become too high, sharp urate crystals can form and deposit in the joints, leading to sudden and severe pain.
⸻
Why Does Gout Happen?
Uric acid is produced when the body breaks down purines, substances found naturally in the body and in certain foods.
Gout develops when:
• The body produces too much uric acid, or
• The kidneys cannot remove uric acid efficiently
This is common in people with kidney problems, metabolic conditions, or certain lifestyle factors.
⸻
Common Symptoms of Gout
Gout often appears suddenly, usually at night.
Typical symptoms include:
• Severe joint pain (often in the big toe, but can affect ankles, knees, wrists, fingers, or elbows)
• Swelling and redness
• Warmth over the joint
• Extreme tenderness (even light touch is painful)
• Limited joint movement during attacks
An attack may last days to weeks and can recur if untreated.
⸻
Stages of Gout
1. Asymptomatic hyperuricemia
High uric acid levels but no symptoms
2. Acute gout attack
Sudden inflammation and intense pain
3. Intercritical gout
Symptom-free periods between attacks
4. Chronic gout
Frequent attacks, joint damage, and formation of tophi (hard urate crystal lumps under the skin)
⸻
Risk Factors
People at higher risk include those who:
• Eat high-purine foods (red meat, organ meat, seafood)
• Consume alcohol (especially beer)
• Are overweight or obese
• Have diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, or heart disease
• Use certain medications (diuretics, aspirin)
• Have a family history of gout
⸻
How Is Gout Diagnosed?
Doctors may use:
• Blood tests (uric acid levels)
• Joint fluid analysis (to detect urate crystals)
• Imaging tests (X-ray, ultrasound) in chronic cases
⸻
Treatment and Management
Gout is treatable and controllable.
During Acute Attacks:
• Anti-inflammatory medications
• Pain relief
• Rest and elevation of the affected joint
Long-Term Management:
• Medications to lower uric acid levels
• Lifestyle and dietary changes
• Weight management
• Good hydration
⸻
Diet Tips for Gout Prevention
Limit or avoid:
• Red meat and organ meat
• Seafood (anchovies, sardines, shellfish)
• Sugary drinks and alcohol
Encouraged:
• Plenty of water
• Low-fat dairy
• Fruits and vegetables
• Whole grains
⸻
When to See a Doctor
Seek medical advice if:
• You experience sudden severe joint pain
• Attacks become more frequent
• Pain does not improve within a few days
• You notice lumps near joints (tophi)

What Is Parkinson’s Disease?
Parkinson’s disease is a long-term neurological condition that affects how the brain controls movement. It happens when the brain produces less dopamine, a chemical needed for smooth and controlled movement.
Parkinson’s develops gradually and affects each person differently. While there is currently no cure, early education, proper treatment, therapy, and supportive care can greatly improve quality of life.
---
Common Symptoms of Parkinson’s
Movement Symptoms
Hand or body tremors (shaking)
Slowness of movement
Muscle stiffness
Balance and walking difficulties
Shuffling steps or freezing while walking
Non-Movement Symptoms
