𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰:𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦

Blood pressure is one of the health challenges that both men and women can develop.

Medical practitioners might complicate things with big grammar to confuse the patient but today
I will explain this in a simple term and I will also give a practical example for everyone to understand.

High Blood pressure leads to hypertension which is one of the world's highest killers.

The World Health Organisation, WHO once revealed that *46% of adults in Africa are hypertensive.

💢 Adult males are prone to have hypertension more than females.

💢Nigeria is topping the list with the highest percentage of adults followed by Ghana, Seychelles, etc.

💢 Nigeria has 51% for males and 49% for female hypertension

That's why awareness and education on HBP is very important for both adults and aged people

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘?

Blood pressure is the force the heart exerts to push blood through the vessels until it reaches its destination in the body.

It is determined both by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance in your arteries.

The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.

One of the most common misconceptions about HBP is that 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 directly causes HBP.

If that is the case, we should all have H.B.P by now because everyone thinks.

Who doesn't think?

With the present economic condition the world is going through right now, lay off here and there and the fear of the increasing victims of COVID-19

The truth is there is no human that doesn't think, it's from our thoughts we bring out the best we showcase to others.

So if this "𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴"now cause HBP as most people believe, then we should all have it by now because everybody think.

What could happen is the stress hormone from 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 (cortisol) might increase the risk of increased blood pressure.

🚨 Now let go practical here so that you can all understand some points.♦️

𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙗𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚.

We have gutters and drainage by our roadside on the street.
Like the attached picture right 👇

These gutters/drainage carry flood away from our road right?
Ideally, the gutters/ drainage should be a free for the smooth flow of flood

See the second gutter /drainage that is filled up.
Now imagine 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙮𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙨 forming a cluster along the gutter/drainage like the attached picture👇

When it rains, would the flood be able to pass through the gutter easily?
NO

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏?

Remember, it's not most likely that the flood would go back. The pressure of the flow won't allow that to happen.

Since the flood can't go back and the volume of water is increasing at that stop point.

The water will gather momentum and 𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 the stumbling blockage and spill over ⤵️the road causing flooded road.

Everyday, human being accumulate what will block their blood vessels jus like the gutter.

Gradually we take them in through food, junks and water/drinks and retain them with our lifestyle e.g

🍓Not detoxifying regularly
🍓Not exercising regularly etc.

This coagulates and disturbs the flow of blood.

Remember just like the flood, our blood can't go back through the same channel. So the heart increases the pressure so that the blood can forcefully pass through the blockage. This leads to HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.

With this pressure, the blood might burst out the vessels and lead to death or the blood forcefully pushes over the blockage

This is what Yoruba call 𝑬𝒋𝒆 𝑹𝒊𝒓𝒖
𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘴.

The vessel could burst out and cause Vessel Rupture which is the most dangerous effect of HBP.

It can lead to instant death.

This happens when a co**se has some blood coming out of the nose and ears.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐁𝐏
In some other cases, it could be that the blood is too thick.
High blood viscosity (thickness of blood) might lead to blood clot called thrombosis

Or it could be that the blood vessels are hardened or smaller from the fats hooking up on the inner side of the vessels.

𝑴𝑶𝑺𝑻 𝑶𝑭 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑺𝑬 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑩𝑳𝑬𝑴𝑺 𝑨𝑹𝑬 𝑪𝑨𝑼𝑺𝑬𝑫 𝑩𝒀 𝑩𝑨𝑫 𝑭𝑨𝑻𝑺 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑺𝑨𝑳𝑻!

It's possible to have HBP (hypertension) for years without any symptoms. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥

Why?

Most people don't go for a checkup, if I ask you when last you did check-up, you will start hearing, 2years ago, last year, 5years ago, etc.

𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙪𝙣𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣.

High blood pressure generally develops over many years.

But fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected and treated.

♦️Normal: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
♦️Elevated: 120-129/less than 80
♦️Stage 1 high blood pressure: 130-139/80-89
♦️Stage 2 high blood pressure: 140 and above/90 and above
♦️Hypertension crisis: higher than 180/higher than 120 -- 𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲

Hypertension and Diabetes are sisters,𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

And if HBP isn't treated on time, it leads to 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦.
𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘉𝘗 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘴, 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘌𝘙𝘌𝘊𝘛𝘐𝘓𝘌 𝘋𝘠𝘚𝘍𝘜𝘕𝘊𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘙𝘐𝘋𝘐𝘎𝘐𝘛𝘠 𝘪𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯.

Most men on Hypertension drugs for over a year won't have their sexual performance great in most cases.

And for women, they might lack sexual urge for intimacy.

This alone can kill your marriage and led to untimely death if care is not taken because it could lead to emotional trauma🧿

Hospital drugs don't permanently cure HBP, it can only manage it.

If you are using HBP drugs, you can testify to this, if you stop using it for a day or two, you might not feel alright, that means the drugs you are using can't cure you. It can only suppress the symptoms.

You have to keep on using the drugs till you either get tired or die.
