Isaiah 31:1 woe unto him that goes to Egypt for help Luke 9:62 no one looks back and is worthy of the kingdom. The old testament prophecy of Isaiah corresponds with Christ statement in Gospelof Luke. Having been initiated into Christ we shouldn’t look for help in our former places for He said we must denied ourselves of the past life, friends, associates etc etc and follow him. Without looking back if we want to be worthy of the kingdom. Its calls for great sacrifice, sacrificing things of the world position, attachment, unchristian love of brethren emotional attachment to gain that of heaven. He said in another place go and sale all that you have and follow me so that there won’t be reason to look back. For no one serve two masters. If we really want to be for Christ, then nothing in this world should be of value to us in obstructing our services to God. For what ever we value so much that didn’t make us to give our ALL to God becomes god in itself for us. In this way we commit idolatry for whatsoever matters to us above God becomes an idol for us. The time is now to make amendments and turn a new leaf.
May his mercy abide with us.
