Davido has reportedly withdrawn his legal bid for joint custody of his first child, Imade, following a tense exchange during a recent court hearing involving his ex-partner, Sophia Momodu.

The singer and Momodu appeared in court on February 12 over the custody case Davido had filed, seeking shared custody of their daughter. Proceedings were said to be progressing smoothly until Momodu’s lawyer questioned Davido’s ability to ensure Imade’s safety, referencing the tragic d£ath of his son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022.

The remark reportedly angered Davido, who reacted strongly in the courtroom. The session was briefly suspended following the outburst. When the hearing resumed, the judge asked the singer to apologise to both the court and the lawyer. However, Davido allegedly refused, maintaining that he could not apologise for a comment that invoked his late son.
