BAUCHI INTENSIFIES ANTI-MALARIA FIGHT AS STAKEHOLDERS RALLY FOR URGENT ACTION.
Authorities, partners and community leaders align under 2026 World Malaria Day theme, calling for sustained investment, stronger systems and collective responsibility to end malaria burden.
The Bauchi State Commissioner for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Sani Muhammad Dambam, has called for renewed urgency and coordinated action in tackling malaria, as the state joined the global community to commemorate World Malaria Day 2026 under the theme, Driven to End Malaria:- Now We Can. Malaria is not only a health concern but a development challenge, he said, pointing to poor sanitation, inadequate housing and low public awareness as underlying drivers of transmission. He urged a multi-sectoral approach involving environmental management, education and community participation.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA), Dr Adamu Sambo, said the agency has streng
