Do you ever (while walking around minding your own business) see edges that are hanging on for dear life and have to bite your tongue with regards giving unsolicited advice, & just silently cry for them?🙈
On that note, I feel like receding hairlines (due to traction) are so much more common these days.. why is that?

Battling with receding hairline and progressive balding? Mix These 3 Ingredients To Regrow Thick, Strong Hair In No Time then thank me later.
The following natural hair tonic will provide amazing effects, as it will help you strengthen and grow your strong hair.
Hair loss is a natural process which happens to everybody, so you should not worry if you notice a few strands of hair on the bathroom floor.
We actually lose 50-100 hairs daily.
Yet, if your hair has gone significantly thinner, and you have a bald patch, you might suffer from hair loss. It can be caused by numerous reasons, such as genetics, illness, childbirth, medicine use, or diet.
These are the most common factors for hair loss:
Severe infections
Hereditary thinning or baldness
Eating disorder
Autoimmune disease
Major surgery
Weight loss
Stress
Cancer treatments
Childbirth
Iron deficiency
Medication
Hair products
Menopause
You surely have already tried some of the hair products which promise to reverse the hair loss process, but none of them actually works.
The following natural hair tonic will provide amazing effects, as it will help you strengthen and regrow your hair. It is affordable and easy to make, as it contains three ingredients:
Castor Oil
This oil is high in the amino acid ricinoleic, which enters the skin of the scalp and follicles, and regulates the pH levels, preventing hair loss and dandruff.
Egg Yolk
Egg yolks are rich in vitamins, protein, and fatty acids, which strengthen the hair, as well as vitamin E, which promotes hair growth and hydrates the hair. Also, eggs contain lecithin which prevents breakage and brittleness.
Honey
Honey is abundant in antioxidants which soften the hair and strengthen the hair follicles and the scalp. It also supports hair growth, protects against hair loss, and moisturizes the hair.
Here is how to prepare the natural hair tonic:
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of castor oil
1 egg
1 tablespoons of honey
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients and stir. Then, apply the tonic on the scalp and roots, and then continue to the ends. Cover the hair with a shower cap and leave the tonic to act for 2-4 hours. Afterward, just wash it off. Repeat this twice a week, and in a few months, the effects will amaze you!

PROTECTIVE STYLING DO’S AND DONT’S
When it comes to reducing breakage and ultimately retaining length, protective styles are a woman's best friend. But there are some women who think of protective styles as boring and even unattractive. There are a second set of women who regard protective styles as a necessarily evil on the way to longer hair. There is the third set who regard protective styles as quick and low maintenance.
No matter where you stand, I think that protective styling has its benefits and can work for you if you let it.
1. DO: CHOOSE THE CORRECT STYLE
In order for a protective style to be effective in retaining length it has to:
- Eliminate breakage (ideally) or severely reduce it
- Eliminate knotting and tangling (ideally) or severely reduce it
Naturals will often class protective styles into LOW manipulation or NO manipulation styles.
Low manipulation styles are those that will require some regular daily handling. Examples include braids or twist outs which are rebraided or retwisted at night. Buns and tucked in styles (french rolls, cinnabuns etc) where hair is free but kept tucked away and off the shoulders are also low manipulation styles.
No manipulation styles are those where free strands of hair are not handled. Examples include twists, braids , cornrows, flat twists, sew in weaves and wigs where hair is braided or twisted underneath and does not require daily combing.
Without any combing (finger or actual comb) of free strands, the no manipulation styles are the most effective in terms of eliminating breakage, knotting and tangling. Low manipulation styles may result in some breakage, knotting and tangling but when performed correctly this damage should be reduced and dependant on hair type, eliminated.
DON’T: Ignore tension or go too small
The big DON’T is never to pull hair too tight when styling it in any manner (buns, twists or braids). This can result in breakage and traction alopecia around the hairline.
The second big DON’T is micro braids and twists. These can look very beautiful but are more often than not terrible for the hairline. If you or your hairdresser has sufficient experience in installing and taking down micros, they are perfectly fine. The big risk is usually at the take down stage where if you have insufficient skill or patience you may end up breaking a lot of the length that you were attempting to retain.
2: KEEP THE CORRECT STYLE IN FOR LONG ENOUGH – STRETCH IT OUT
For retaining length, a protective style is not effective unless it is kept for a sufficient time. This is especially true for no manipulation styles where elimination of breakage is a priority.
Taking a quick survey of naturals with long type 4 hair, the most success seems to arise from a period of two weeks (though often 3-4 weeks) or longer in twists or braids. Hair is not subsequently left free for long (usually 2-3 days) but is instead rebraided or retwisted for another 2 week (or longer) period. Many of these ladies will have periods of free hair but often not for long during the year. I would estimate that until getting to around mid back length most will be spending 70% or more of the time with twists or braids.
DON’T: Neglect hair or keep the style in for too long.
When hair is in a no manipulation style, your regular routine should not be postponed. You can still wash your hair as normal as well as apply water and oil to moisturise your hair (or whatever you normally use) whenever you feel the need.
For no manipulation styles, there is a danger of build up, lint and matting which can all lead to a loss of length as more aggressive combing, cutting and trimming may be necessary to fix the problems. It is possible to keep a protective style well beyond 2 weeks (even up to 8 weeks). However, a key factor in successfully doing this is to watch out for the possible build up and matting and pay special attention to the hair around the perimeter taking care to redo it every 2 weeks or so.
So, Ladies, what are your protective styling do’s and dont’s?

Lately, thoughts relating to post partum hair loss has been on the front burner in my mind.
Not many women have been able to establish the link between post partum and their hair loss situation.
Others still do not have an inkling how to help themselves overcome this problem.
Now As the hormones kick in, a pregnant woman goes through a lot of changes, both mental and physical over the long period of pregnancy and even after when she’s become a Mother.
Of these many post pregnancy physical changes, increased hair loss after pregnancy also known as postpartum hair loss is one of them.
Almost every new mother faces sudden excessive hair loss after pregnancy. This is perfectly normal, in fact, it's a natural process. In almost 85%-95% cases the mothers find their hair falling out dramatically between 3 to 6 moths after their child birth.
Mothers, there’s no need to freak out screaming, “my hair is falling out”. Before your child’s 1st birthday your hair will go back to exactly the same as before.
This article aims to help the new mothers understand about postpartum hair loss and to prevent such incidents.
Reasons behind postpartum hair loss
Often this problem is misdiagnosed and stated to be related to breast feeding. The real cause for post pregnancy hair loss lies with a pregnancy hormone and hair growth schedule.
All hair goes through a growth period, named Anagen and then, a resting period, termed Telogen. On women’s scalp, the Anagen phase lasts for about 3 years and the Telogen goes for 3 months. This time frame varies from individuals. During the Telogen phase, the resting hair stays under the follicle until the hair from the Anagen phase push it out causing hair to fall out. Everyday shedding hair around 100 is natural for any woman.
At any point, more than 85% to 95% of our hair is going through the growth phase. During pregnancy, the level of Estrogen goes up and so the growth phase is prolonged resulting in putting more hair in the Anagen phase than usual. This means less hair for the resting period. That’s why women can enjoy long and thick hair during pregnancy. But as the child is born and the Estrogen level takes a tumble, it causes more hair to rush into the resting phase and finally, increased hair shedding. This is why the mothers experience the amplified hair loss after pregnancy.
Also women with long hair or those whose hair had grown too much during pregnancy might see more hair falling out than usual.
But not to worry, the hair will get set to the normal growth pattern within 6 months after the birth or between 6 to 12 months.
Ideas to adopt until the normal growth cycle is restored
During pregnancy almost all women get extra thick and glowing hair. The hair becomes quite difficult to brush through. Since you’ll start losing that wonderful hair after pregnancy, might as well try something new now. Here are a few suggestions for the soon to be mothers to follow.
New Hair Styles: Since the mothers have the hair for it, they should experiment with new hairstyles while they can.
Short Hairstyles: For those new mothers with long hair fed up with scooping hair bundles from bathroom stands and shower drain, short hairstyles could be something relaxing and new. Also it is painful see your hair falling out. A compact shortly cut hair is easy to manage and a lot less time consuming.
Various Styling Products: This is the perfect time to try out both traditional and some natural styling products you never used to bulk up your persona. Avoid the highly chemical based ones.
Pre-Cautions to prevent postpartum hair loss
“My hair is falling out”, that’s the last thing any woman would want to worry about. Only women can understand what the new mothers go through during the postpartum hair loss phase. But just a few measures taken during pregnancy can reduce the hair fall rate to the minimum. Some effective tips are stated below.
Healthy Diet: First and foremost is maintaining a regular healthy diet ensuring enough flow of vitamins and other minerals. Pregnant women need supplements of Biotin, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and Zinc. These materials are highly effective to reduce hair loss during pregnancy and also after. To protect the scalp, the mothers need enough dosage of Flavinoids and Antioxidants.
Hair Styles: During pregnancy the scalp gets quite delicate. So, avoid keeping long hair or any hair style that cause any downward pull or stretch on the hair. So, go for short hair cuts. Also trim the split ends which are responsible for unhealthy hair. After all that rich and glowing pregnancy hair no one wants to worry thinking, “my hair is falling out”.
Quality Shampoos: Choose your shampoo and other hair products carefully. Shampoos containing biotin or silica can help your hair health to grow along with stimulating follicle growth.
Avoid Heated Styling Tools: Skip curling and blow drying until the hair shedding stops.
Avoid Stress: Having a baby takes its toll on both the body and mind. After child birth the mother becomes exposed to various stress and depression related feelings. Stress causes major hair fall and reduction in thickness.
Wait a sec. Is the degree of shedding influenced by the baby's gender?
Do you shed more hair after the birth of a baby girl than a baby boy or vice versa?
Post partum hair loss (hair loss after child birth). Can any body relate?

Hello people,
Took a very necessary break off social media to put my house in order.
I'm back with a whole lot of goodies up my sleeves.
For those who have been investing in my businesses one way or the other, you're helping a sister grow oh. Thanks so much.
Let's deal with WHAT HAIRSTYLE SUITS YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FACE SHAPE?
A hairstyle that suits you can really make your day. Everyone knows that. When you choose a hairstyle, what do you take into account? Most people break their heads over the following moments. What is my face shape? What haircut should I get to highlight my finest facial features? What hairstyle suits me and brings out the best of my natural beauty? You will get the answers to these important questions as you read on
So? What Hairstyle Suits Your Face Shape?
A well-known fact is you make a first impression on people according to the way you look. It’s not our goal to exaggerate the value of a chic look compared to person’s inner values, but nobody would probably argue that in modern world clothes make the man. Not only clothes though. A hairstyle is a key point of your overall look. The right haircut, styled properly, can either enhance it or ruin the first great impression of you completely. How to choose a haircut that is good on you and easy to style in a number of different stylish ways? Very soon you’ll know what haircut you should get and how to choose a hairstyle that suits your face shape.Let’s define your face shape to answer the question.
7 MAIN FACE SHAPES
Basically there are 7 main face shapes – oval, round, square, oblong (long), heart, inverted triangle and diamond. Sometimes they also mention rectangular and pear-shaped faces. It’s easy to get confused, eh? After all, the main thing is to define whether your face is rather broad or narrow and what your best facial feature is. The right hairstyle is going to compensate the length or width of your face, add fullness or height where it’s needed and accentuate your most beautiful features.
What exactly Is My Face Shape?
The easiest way to define your face shape is to make a photo of your face (with your hair away from your face), looking straight ahead at the camera. It’s better if another person takes a picture of you, because selfies may distort the way you really look. As a last resort, take a picture of your reflection in the mirror. Next, simply consider which geometric figure your face resembles. Below there are descriptions of all the mentioned face shapes and recommendations on which hairstyles and haircuts to opt for depending on your face shape. So, let’s see how to choose a hairstyle.
To look your best, choose the haircut of the recommended length and silhouette according to your face shape. Style your hair, creating volume and texture where needed, basing on the tips from infographic.
OVAL FACE
Oval is the ideal face shape for a woman. An oval face has perfect proportions. It’s neither overly long, nor wide. If you are among the lucky ones who have oval faces, you can try whatever hairstyle and haircut you like. Anything from sassy pixies to long glamorous waves will look good on you. Remember to highlight your best feature with your hairstyle. What is it? Your eyes? Get playful eyebrow-skimming bangs!
Got great bone structure and regular facial features? Accentuate them with an accurate blunt bob! Beyonce and Sharon Stone are examples of celebrities with perfectly shaped oval faces.
ROUND FACE
Round face about equal in height and width. It has no pronounced jaw corners and may have chubby cheeks. Ginnifer Goodwin and Cameron Diaz are probably the brightest round-faced celebrities who often succeed with flattering hairstyles.
How to choose a hairstyle for a round face? Minimize roundness with a deep side part and long side bangs. Generally it’s recommended to opt for medium and long hairstyles, but you may try to pull off a pixie as well. Add an edge to your look with a choppy pixie, styled with added volume on the crown
SQUARE FACE
Square is perceived as a masculine face shape, but we should admit that the most beautiful women like Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wilde, Demi Moore, and Keira Knightley, to name a few, have square faces. The angular jawline and approximately equal face width and length are the defining features of a square face.
The right hairstyle for a square face softens the angles and adds some height on top. Loose medium length hair and long waves, chin-length bobs and lobs will look terrific on a square-faced girl. A no-no option is blunt straight bangs. They will accentuate your strong jawline and make your face appear even wider. Extra-short bobs or slicked back hairstyles are not the best idea either. They may make you look rather masculine.
LONG FACE
A long (oblong) face is similar to an oval face. It’s just a bit longer and narrower when it should be. Sarah Jessica Parker and Liv Tyler are nice examples to list here.
The recommendations for long faces are opposite to those mentioned for round and square faces.
The volume of your hairstyle should be concentrated at the sides of your face, not on the crown.
You may choose layered haircuts with layering that starts as high as your cheekbones. Go for blunt horizontal bangs, style wide waves or fluffy curls. Remember that any added height above the forehead or long straight tresses without layers along the sides on your face are going to elongate your face unflatteringly!
HEART FACE/INVERTED TRIANGLE
Heart and inverted triangle are very cute face shapes with a wide forehead and cheekbones narrowed towards the pointy chin. Kourtney Kardashian is a perfect example of a heart-shaped face, and Anja Rubik is an inverted triangle.
Recommendations on the choice of hairstyles are much the same. Bouncy curls from mid-length to ends are a fabulous idea for hearts and inverted triangles. The curly hair add the fullness at your chin level, compensating the contrast between the broadness of your forehead and the narrowness of your jaw.
Long swoopy bangs are a nice compliment to such a hairstyle. Do not add any volume on top. It’s going to widen your forehead visually even more.
DIAMOND FACE
Diamond and heart are similar face shape. Diamond is slightly wider than heart. The hairline is narrower. Cheekbones are the widest part of a diamond-shaped face. Ashley Greene is a cutie with a diamond-shaped face. Since diamonds have a great bone structure and much to show off, like awesome high cheekbones and cute feminine jawline, they often look good with swept back locks or side-swept hairstyles. In terms of haircuts, loads of layers are the most flattering way to frame a diamond face.
These were the main face shapes and tips on the choice of haircuts and hairstyles according to your face shape. When you understand the principles on how to compensate for the peculiarities of your face shape, you pick the hairstyle that is right for you easily. Please use the infographic to guide you through all the pitfalls of hairstyle choices and stay beautiful!
