My journey into Nursing 🤭
I got admission to study Nursing in University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2017. Before then many things happened.
When I was about writing WAEC in 2016, I wrote JAMB, the result was not funny. First of all it was withheld, in my poor mind I was thinking that I have finished JAMB with my score. When I finally saw the result😭 my dear I got 174, and guess what I applied for? Pharmacy (UNIZIK). I cried very well, my parents consoled me and I continued with my WAEC examination...

Story Time!!!

Continuation post💯

Having written GCE examination and making an E8 in mathematics, my greatest fear was failing maths In WAEC again.
To make the matter worse, my set was the pioneer set of St Thomas Aquinas secondary school Umuida Enugu Ezike. I didn't even know what the result will look like but I didn't quit.
WAEC exam came, we wrote and we passed well.
One phase completed.
I travelled to Abuja to cool off first.
Then Back to the JAMB phase that made mess of me earlier.
I registered for JAMB again but this time I changed my first choice institution to University of Nigeria Nsukka and then instead of putting Pharmacy or nursing sciences as my first choice, I put Biochemistry (weird right?)😄😄
My parents and siblings thought I applied for nursing in my JAMB form but Omo fear didn't allow me to put Nursing.
I contacted someone studying nursing in UNN then to mentor me.
I asked him to please put me through on what to do that I really wanted to study Nursing and I have filled it in my JAMB form already. I had to lie guy🤭.
I can still remember his words on the phone and I quote "I trust you, you can get it"
He told me to buy "Fella 101" ( I am guessing, I am not so sure of the exact name again) for my English. He wasn't sure of the best one in other subjects as at that time.
I thought of how to go about this. I left my comfort zone, went and registered for JAMB lesson in Nsukka town. Then I was staying with a couple that had 4 children then (the matter rugged for that house but na story for another day).
I tried all I could and when JAMB result came out I got only but 266🤔🤔🤔

How to naturally decide the S*X of your baby before conception.

Menstrual Cycle🥰🥰🥰

1. How to calculate your menstrual Cycle
2. How to know your ovulation period
3. How to know your free period .

Menstrual Cycle of an average person is between 28-32days.

Some persons have shorter cycle than this while some has longer cycle. It's all normal;

The first day of your period is your first day of menstrual Cycle.

Assuming your last month menstruation started on 3rd august and that of September started on 4th of September,then your menstrual Cycle will be the number of days from 3rd of august to 3rd of September.
And that's how you count it every month to know exactly what your cycle is.

Period lasts 3-7days depending on your body system.

Ovulation and free periods.💘💘💘

I will be using a 28days cycle to explain this.
Ovulation comes up around 14days after the first day of menstruation.
5-6days before the 14th day is also considered a fertile period.
2days after the 14th day is also a fertile period. Therefore there is high chance of becoming pregnant during this period due to the high fertility level.

From the 17th day to 28day from the first day of menstruation is considered the free period.
However, you should know that pregnancy might still occur here but the chance is very minimal.
When you are menstruating, it's less fertile, however; It's not advisable to have a sexual in*******se during this period.
If your menstruation lasts for four days as shown in the diagram below, then the remaining day 5,6 and 7 are your free period.

Insertion methods

1. Implants
2. Intrauterine contraceptive device(IUCD)

Implants: these are rod like capsules which are inserted into the upper arm under local anesthesia.
We have different brands of implants
There are
A. Jadelle
B. Implanon
C. Levo plant.

The first three pictures represent implants

Jadelle has two two rods and are effective for 5years.this implies that it will keep preventing pregnancy for 5years but if you wish to get pregnant before then you can remove it and take in immediately (A week after removal )

B. Implanon :This is just one rod and it is effective for 3years. It works like Jadelle.
The only difference is that instead of 5years,it's effective for 3years.

C. Levo plant: it has two rods and it is effective for 3years.

If any of these is taken within the first 5days of menstruation, it works immediately.
But if taken when you are not menstruating, it starts working after seven days.
Therefore, if you must have an in*******se within the 7days period , make use of other contraceptives like condom.

The side effects may include:
A. Irregular bleeding
B. Headache
C. Mood swings etc.

The side effect you will have depends on your body system.
Some persons don't experience any side effect while some do.

IUCD

This is shown in picture 4 and 5

This is done using an instrument called copper T.
It is inserted into your womb through the v*gina.
You may experience some discomfort during the procedure.
This lasts from 8 to 10years.

The End💕💕💕

There are several ways in which family planning is carried out.
It can also be called contraception.

It can be orally taken(Not the emergency contraceptives)
It can be injectables
It can be insertion into the body.

ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES
It is made with hormones (oestrogen, progesterone etc)
The most popular is combined oral contraceptives pills in a nut shell "the pills"
There is also progesterone only pills - This was introduced to avoid the side effects of oestrogen that is contained in " the pills"
2. There are injectables (These are Long acting and reversible)
The name of the two most common injectables are Depo-provera and Noristerat.Itis given intramuscularly at the thigh preferably.
They expires in three months(12weeks).

If this injection is give within the first 5days of menstruation,it starts working immediately

If it's given any other day apart from when you are menstruating, check your pregnancy status and be sure you are not pregnant and then use condom for the first seven days if you must have se* , because it won't work immediately.
It has side effect. Example
It reduces bone density.
