In Igbo land, we don't celebrate death no matter how old the deceased may be.
This is my maternal father and instead of celebrating his departure, I will observe ONE MINUTE SILENCE from where I am. Déath is painful no matter the age.

Mr. Ejiofor (as we fondly called him) was the best flute player in the entirety of Olo and by extension, Ezeagu. His prowess in the world 🌍 of flute playing was exhibited in the rhythms that accompanied the melodic sounds that puffed out of his flute. He was good, infact, too good in flute playing that even a neonate could quickly understand anything he said with the flute.
Ejiofor's tones depends solely on the atmosphere of the environment at a given time. If the atmosphere was melancholic, he would play dirge and elegy. If the atmosphere was convivial, he would play ode or epic in appraisal of the individuals in the scene, particularly ndi-ichie and ndi nze-na-ozo.
In most of the occasions he played dirge and elegy, uncontrollable tears would always flow from his eyes down to his cheeks. This is to say that he was a passionate flute player. And, if he played epic in a convivial atmosphere, if you were not careful, you would spray all the money you have on him. In fact, you wouldn't like him to leave the scene because his performance played a crucial role in the conviviality of the environment or the explanation of the events.
He would walk front and back in accordance with the rhythmic patterns of the flute. His flute has become so smooth as a result of constant handling. His tiger-head (isi Agu) had a chest pocket where he would put his flute at any interval he paused to exchange hand-shake with the audience.
Ejiofor's prowess in the world of flute playing was not much appreciated by the general public until he became too old to play flute. That reminds me a popular Igbo adage which says that a cow does not value it's tail until it is cut off.
