The hair is actually an essential part of the body that contribute meaningfully to the way an individual looks. For women, people may even notice the condition of the hair before observing any other part of the body.

The truth is, your hair is a lot more complicated than you might think.

If you want to take proper care of your hair, a good knowledge of what the hair is made of, what the hair loves and what you should avoid will help you to know what to do to improve the health of your hair.

Keeping your hair natural doesn't mean you won't experience hair challenges and relaxing it doesn't help either, rather it exposes you to more problems, such as: stunted growth, brittle/thinning hair, thinning/bald edges, hair breakage/hair Shedding, painful/dry/itchy scalp, dandruff/scalp irritation, etc.

But many people are unsure of what to do and the inability to figure out what works for them personally leaves many women frustrated with their hair.

Review wey sweet belle from my pretty sis 🥰 in Kwara state 👇👇👇

I love people that are willing to make sacrifices. The lady didn't attend any of my Paid Hair care class but free class.

After the class, we got talking and she said she is ready to follow what she learnt in the Free class and to make the needed sacrifice for her hair.

Out of frustration she barbed her hair to start all over again coz she was battling with bad edges and stunted growth but today, she is happy with result 🥳

She saw great improvement within just a month of giving her hair the needed attention, the Free class was on 7th of August.

Like my mentor in hair ministry (Uncle Joe) used to say, "Our hair is a being" and needs to be treated like one not a piece of cloth that you can squeeze anyhow or even throw it somewhere until you need it again 😄

That's why lots of people will continue to experience hair challenges until they are willing to accept the truth and make sacrifices just like the way we make sacrifices to feed our stomach, skin and nails(nails ooo), some people the amount they spend on their face alone generally can pay my baby's school fees. I don't use eye lashes but I know it's not cheap 😀

But when it comes to our hair, we expect a miracle to happen 🤷‍♀️.

My dear, no be so the thing take dey happen.....🥱

Healthy, long and beautiful hair is possible only if you are willing to follow the process and make sacrifices 🤏

THE IMPORTANCE OF CONDITIONING, DETANGLING AND MOISTURIZING HAIR

There are three types of conditioning treatments. We have the rinse-out or regular conditioner, the leave-in conditioner and the deep conditioner.

Rinse-out conditioner is applied to the hair to help make detangling easier, add moisture to hair and tame frizz. It is meant to be rinsed out. You can use this as a quick conditioning treatment on some wash days when you don't want to deep condition.

Leave-in conditioner is applied to the hair every other day to help maintain the health and moisture of hair.

Deep conditioner is just like a special treatment to hair. It should nourish the hair, replenish it's moisture and provide what is lacking in the hair. If your hair is brittle and dry, a moisturising deep conditioner should be done. If it's weak then a protein deep conditioner is needed. Listen to your hair and go with what it needs.

Conditioning is a very important element is a hair regimen. It should not be skipped.

DETANGLING is a way of removing knots and tangles from hair. When detangling, make sure your hair isn't too dry or wet, your hair is prone to damage on either conditions. Detangle when your hair is damp with a good slip product to help reduce breakage.

Try using your fingers first to remove knots and tangles then use either a brush or wide-tooth comb to complete process. Start by working with the ends then work your way up to the roots.

Detangling requires patience. Rushing will make you tear at your hair and damage it. When setting up your regimen, make sure you place detangling in a time when you know you'll have enough time to detangle peacefully.

MOISTURIZING as it is always emphasized, kinky hair needs "MOISTURE". Without moisture the hair is dry, lifeless, frizzy and is prone to breakage or damage. Every regimen should contain this element. The way you moisturize and retain moisture in your hair should depend entirely on your hair.

Experiment with either the LOC or LCO methods and stick with the one that goes well with your hair. You can also add other things you feel will make your moisturizing game better and more productive. Natural hair is all about experimenting.

Trust you got value....have a great hair day 🥳

THE IMPORTANCE OF HAIR STEAMING

Steaming is the process of using moist heat to help open up the hair follicle, lift the cuticle on the hair shaft and allow conditioner and treatments to pe*****te each strand to allow better absorption of moisture,” explains award-winning afro hair stylist, Charlotte Mensah.

Steaming is one of the best things you can do to pamper your hair, as the heat aids in hydrating dry hair leaving your parched hair happy 🥳

What does steaming do and how can it help our hair 👇👇👇

🎯 Alongside helping the moisture to deeply pe*****te your hair, “steaming increases softness and can stimulate growth,” says Charlotte.

🎯 The moist heat also encourages blood flow to circulate and helps to repair damaged hair.

🎯 It also provides the scalp with a deep clean – this can help make styling easier as the hair will move better without product build-up.

🎯 Steaming can calm the scalp from skin irritations and dryness.

Low porosity hair [which struggles to absorb moisture], colour treated hair and hair that’s transitioning from being chemically relaxed to natural, will particularly benefit from steaming says Charlotte.

Basically, it will help to soften and hydrate any hair that’s very dry, damaged, over-processed or chemically treated.

Note: This can be done in process of deep conditioning. You cover your head with Thermal heat cap Or sit under a hooded dryer after covering your hair with plastic cap Or wrap a towel round your head after covering the hair with plastic cap.

Many women are going natural and majority of them swear they will never turn back! There is everything good about giving up the heat and chemicals.

The natural hair is stronger, extra durable, more nutrient-rich, sheds less and grows faster than relaxed hair. Relaxers in the long run damage the roots, which can cause alopecia (baldness), hair breakage, scalp irritation and sometimes stunted hair growth, except for those who subject themselves to regular conditioning treatment before and after relaxing. In the hand of a professional, those set of people can still maintain good hair.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can learn how to care for your natural hair without dangerous chemicals.

You can save money with natural hair. Hair relaxers or even good weaves don’t come cheap.

And trust me, most men love natural 😘. So my dear sister, be proud of and embrace your curls 👌

Actually, washing your hair in sections is much better for highly textured hair, especially if your hair medium to long in length.

🎯 Doing this allows you to use less product because there’s less hair to pe*****te per section. Instead of using two handfuls of shampoo or conditioner to get through all of your hair, you can use smaller amounts for each section, which will add up to a smaller amount used overall.

🎯 Also, it ensures that each strand gets properly coated and cleansed.

🎯 Washing in sections means you have more access to your scalp, which is highly important because scalp buildup is detrimental to hair growth and health.

🎯 Washing in sections reduces the risk and the severity of tangles and breakage by reducing the amount of hair involved. When you wash your hair, and you’re manipulating and scrubbing the strands, it has a high tendency to get tangled.

Trust you got value...🥳

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BREAKAGE AND SHEDDING AND HOW TO DEAL WITH BOTH

Next to dryness, breakage is a common complaint among women who wear their hair in its natural state. But often, what some may think is breakage is actually something else: it's shedding. As with many other terms in the hair care world, “BREAKAGE” and “SHEDDING” are often used interchangeably. So, let’s talk about the difference between Hair Breakage and Shedding, plus go over a few hair care tips on what can do to deal with both.

WHAT IS SHEDDING?

Everyone loses, on average, about a hundred hairs per day. So, shedding is a completely normal part of the growth cycle. Strands of hair fall out of the follicle at the end of their cycle, making room for a new strand of hair to come in. You’ll know the hair has shed and not broken off if it matches the overall length of your hair and has a white bulb at the root.

When your hair has been in a style for a few days or longer, such as when you wear a protective style, you may notice that quite a bit of hair comes out. This is natural, since your hair is shedding every day. What you see when you take your style down is just an accumulation of the hair that has shed over time.

Yes, shedding is natural, but things like stress and a poor diet can cause excessive shedding.

WHAT IS BREAKAGE?

Much different from shedding, breakage happens when the hair is damaged. Over-manipulation, dryness, and excessive or improper heat styling can all cause strands of hair to break off from any point along the hair shaft. Strands of broken, damaged hair will have varying lengths, but they will be much shorter than your overall length.

HERE ARE FEW TIPS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH BOTH

🎯 Don't comb your hair when it's dry

🎯 Avoid using heat

🎯 Moisturize often

🎯 Trim hair regularly

🎯 Don't manipulate your hair always

🎯 Do not dry your hair with ordinary towel. Use a t-shirt or micro fibre towel

🎯 Avoid using hair products with harmful
ingredients

🎯 Reduce stress

If you find that you’ve done all you can on your own, but you still don’t see a difference, be sure to seek professional help to find out the cause and the treatment that’s right for you.
