TAX CLUB, BUK AT THE NATIONAL TAX AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2026

The Tax Club, Bayero University Kano, was honoured to participate in the National Tax Awareness Programme organized by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Kano Branch, in collaboration with the Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).

As part of the awareness campaign, members of the Club joined tax professionals and stakeholders in engaging traders and residents along the historic Sabon Gari axis and within the popular Sabon Gari Market on the importance of taxation, voluntary compliance, and the critical role taxes play in national and economic development.

The exercise also provided an opportunity to enlighten members of the public on the newly consolidated Nigerian Tax Act, 2025, and other recent developments in Nigeria's tax administration framework.

Our participation in this programme reflects the commitment of the Tax Club, BUK, to promoting tax literacy, civic responsibility, and preparing the next generation of tax professionals and advocates.

We sincerely appreciate the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Kano Branch, for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to this impactful initiative. We look forward to more collaborations geared towards advancing tax awareness and education across our communities.
