THE LIVING WATER DEVOTIONAL
DATE: SAT, JUL 11, 2026
TOPIC: HUNTED AND ENDANGERED 1
MEMORISE:
They tracked our steps so that we could not walk in our streets. Our end was near; our days were over, for our end had come. - (Lamentations 4:18).
READ: Lamentations 4:13-22 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
The World Population Day reminds us of humanity's impact on creation. More than 8,000 plant species and 7,000 animal species face extinction before they are studied. Key causes include habitat destruction, pollution, hunting, and invasive species (United Nations, 2019). These parallels bring to mind the struggles of Israelites with their Chaldean oppressors, who relentlessly pursued them like prey.
The global extinction crisis reflects the consequences of neglecting both humanity and nature. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, warned Israel about their rebellion (Jeremiah 6:16), but they ignored his call to repentance. Today, our torment is often self-inflicted. We know the solutions but choose paths that harm creation and ourselves. Leaders in Israel offered false hope amid a looming disaster, much like many leaders today who ignore the reality of eco-system destruction.
Yet, hope remains. God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11 assures us that His plans endure even in affliction. As the Israelites had a chance to turn back to God, so do we. Restoration begins when destructive actions are rejected. Let us now reflect on and act to avoid devastating consequences and preserve the beauty of creation.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, bring our nation back to You and heal our land.
2. God, forgive us for harming Your world. Restore us and renew the earth.
3. Lord, teach us to care for Your creation and take action to protect it.

DATE: FRI, JUL 10, 2026
TOPIC: CHRISTLESS JOURNEY
MEMORISE:
So, when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. - (Luke 2:45).
READ: Luke 2:42-51 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Today's devotional reflects on the story of the twelve-year-old Jesus who stayed behind in the temple while Mary and Joseph unknowingly left for home. After a day of travel, they realised He was missing and returned to find Him in deep discussion with the teachers.
This story teaches us the dangers of a Christless journey. Mary and Joseph assumed Jesus was with them, but when they realised He wasn't, they felt anxious and lost. In life, we can also assume Christ is guiding our decisions, only to find that we have been moving forward without Him.
A journey without Christ leads to confusion and a lack of peace. When Mary and Joseph found Jesus, He was focused on His mission in His Father's house. This reminds us that true meaning and direction come when we return to Christ.
Are we seeking His guidance in everything we do? Let us commit to walking closely with Jesus each day, so that we can continually find peace and purpose in His presence.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Open my spiritual eyes, O Lord, to know if I have been disconnected from the Source.
2. Ask for the grace to walk closely with Christ in every step of our way, in Jesus'name.
3. Pray for souls who have been disconnected from God to find reason to seek Him afresh and receive pardon.

TOPIC: ENJOYING GOD'S PROVISION THROUGH OBEDIENCE
MEMORISE:
Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you. - (1 Kings 17:9).
READ: 1 Kings 17:1-9 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Our God is Jehovah-Jireh, the God Who provides. He is the only true Source of provision, using people as His instruments to meet our needs. In His plan, He has the power to direct others to help us, and vice versa. However, His provision requires our total obedience. Only when we obey will He supply our needs in His perfect timing (Deuteronomy 8:3; John 15:5).
There are 2 key areas of obedience for us to experience God's provision. The first is being in the right place at the right time, as Elijah shows us. When the brook dried up, Elijah obeyed God's command to move to a new location, where his needs were met (1 Kings 17:8-9).
The second is doing the right thing at the right time. The widow of Zarephath demonstrated this when she gave her last meal to the prophet, trusting God for provision. Her obedience led to the miracle of an unending supply until the rain came (1 Kings 17:10-15).
Obeying God's voice, even when it is difficult, brings His provision. May we have the strength to obey, no matter the cost.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, help me to be in the right place at the right time with ease.
2. Father, guide me to do the right thing at the right time effortlessly.
3. Ask God to move CAC Good Women's Association forward, the chairperson and other officers at various level, in Jesus'name.

TOPIC: THE BEAUTY OF OUR MOTHER TONGUE
MEMORISE:
And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? - (Acts 2:8)
READ: Acts 2:5-11 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Today's dose of the living water devotional affords us a chance to appreciate the gift of language. Language is more than just a way to communicate–it shapes who we are, connects us to our roots, and helps us understand one another.
In Acts 2:5-11, we see how the Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to speak in different languages, allowing people from many nations to hear the Gospel in their own tongue. This reminds us of the power of language-not just as words, but as a bridge between people, cultures and faith. Our Mother Tongue is often the first way we express love, learn about God and build relationships. biver
As Christians, we should cherish our own language while also respecting and learning from others. God has given us words not just to speak, but to uplift, encourage and bring unity. When we choose our words with care, we reflect His love and creativity. May we always use language to bring people together, share God's truth and strengthen those around us.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of my mother tongue. Help me to use it wisely everywhere and every time.
2. Lord, open my heart to appreciate all languages and help me to share Your love across cultures.
3. Pray for more of God's power and presence in CAC Akinyele Region, in the life of our father, the Regional Superintendent, other officers and members at various levels, in Jesus'name.

TOPIC: THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
MEMORISE:
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. - (Ephesians 4:32).
READ: Matthew 18:21-22, Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Forgiveness is a powerful act that shows God's heart. In Matthew 18:21-22, Jesus teaches that our forgiveness should have no limits. We should forgive generously, just as God forgives us. Forgiveness heals wounds and restores relationships with both others and God. In Ephesians 4:32, we are called to be kind and compassionate, forgiving each other as Christ forgave us. This means letting go of grudges, avoiding bitterness and embracing the spirit of grace. Though forgiveness can be challenging, it is vital for our spiritual well-being and for healthy relationships. It lifts the burden of anger and resentment, allowing God's peace to fill our hearts.
By forgiving others, we show God's love and mercy. This act brings healing to our own lives and relationships. Forgiveness is transformative; it changes us and the dynamics between us and those who have wronged us. Forgiveness reflects God's character and participates in His work of reconciliation. Strive to forgive without limits. Be kind and compassionate. By doing so, we align ourselves with God's will and experience freedom and peace.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Pray for the strength to forgive those who have wronged you.
2. Ask God to help you release any bitterness or anger you may be holding onto.
3. Pray that God will help CAC Marketing department, the Manager and other sales personnels as led by the by the Holy Spirit.

TOPIC: CELEBRATING OUR VOICES IN GOD'S CREATION
MEMORISE:
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. - (James 3:10).
READ: Genesis 11:1-9 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
We should celebrate the beauty of the many languages spoken around the world, in God's way. In Genesis 11, God saw the pride of humanity as they built the Tower of Babel and sought to make a name for themselves. In response, He confused their language, causing the people to scatter. This story reminds us of the power of language–not just as a way to communicate, but as a tool for connection, expression and understanding.
Our Mother Tongue (the first language a person learns from birth) is a gift from God. It shapes how we relate to others, our culture and ultimately, to Him. Yet, we must also remember that the same mouth used to speak our language can be used to hurt. So, use your words to bless, encourage and lift others up (James 3:10).
Today, let us reflect on how we use our language and strive to honour God in every word we speak. We should be using our voices to serve and love those around us.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Pray for unity and understanding among different languages and cultures.
2. Ask God to help you speak words that bless, encourage and uplift others.
3. Pray that Mother Tongues are valued and preserved for future generations.

TOPIC: THE END-TIME ARMY
MEMORISE:
Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. - (Isaiah 2:2).
READ: Isaiah 2:2-3 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
God promises an End-time Army-a powerful, unified force that will draw nations to His mountain. This army will be spiritually strong and excellent in their professions, impacting both the Church and the marketplace for Christ. In this end-time, 2 movements will rise: the Apostolic Prayer, and the Apostolic Professional Movements.
The Apostolic Prayer Movement consists of believers who intercede with authority, praying for nations, families, and communities, and releasing heavenly strategies to advance God's Kingdom.
The Apostolic Professional Movement includes Christians who excel in their careers, bringing divine wisdom and integrity to their workplaces. They are passionate about God's work and use their influence to spread His Kingdom in every area of society.
The End-time Army, a spiritual and professional force, will lead people to God's mountain and transform the world. Will you join?

TOPIC: GOD'S GRACE IS ENOUGH FOR YOU
MEMORISE:
'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - (2 Corinthians 12:9).
READ: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Have you ever felt like life's struggles are just too much? You try to push through, but your strength isn't enough. It is in these moments that God's grace steps in. Paul experienced this firsthand. He had something he called his "thorn in the flesh" - an issue that weighed him down.
Despite praying for it to be taken away, God's response was simple: "My grace is enough." God didn't take the problem away, but He gave Paul the strength to endure it. And Paul discovered that when he was weak, God's power shone even brighter through him.
This truth hasn't changed. God's grace is still enough for you, no matter what you are going through. It is His gift to hold you up when your strength is gone. Trusting in His grace doesn't mean the problems will disappear, but it does mean that His strength will carry you through.
So, if you are facing challenges that feel overwhelming, don't give up. God's grace is available to you right now. Lean on Him, and let His power work through your weaknesses.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, thank You for Your grace. Help me to trust in it with the belief that it is enough for my situations.
2. Father, when I feel weak, show me Your strength and let it shine through me.
3. Lord, teach me to rely on You, so that my life can bring glory to Your name, even in hard times.

TOPIC: OUR CONFIDENCE
MEMORISE:
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. - (1 John 5:13-14)
READ: 1 John 5:12-15 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
Christianity is a rational faith, founded on the testimonies of those who encountered the historical Jesus. Their experiences provide us with confidence in eternal life and the power of answered prayers. Our anchor scripture today affirms the believer's assurance in these promises. John writes, He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life (1 John 5:12). This clear statement underscores the importance of Jesus in our faith. Through Him, we are assured of eternal life. (v. 13) further strengthens this assurance: I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This knowledge is not based on uncertainty but is a certainty from God Himself.
Additionally, vv. 14,15 remind us of the power of prayer and the confidence we can have when approaching God. We are encouraged to pray boldly, knowing that He hears and answers according to His will. Our relationship with God is rooted in His love and the sacrifice of Jesus. With this confidence, we are empowered to live boldly, pray fervently and trust fully in God's promises.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank You God, for being our prayer-answering God.
2. Lord, grant us boldness to ask according to Your will.
3. Lord, fill all Christians worldwide with unwavering faith.

TOPIC: BEING GIFTED AND FRUITFUL 2
MEMORISE:
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. - (1 Peter 4:10)
READ: Galatians 5:22, 1 Timothy 4:16 (NKJV)
EXPOSITION:
The gifts of the Spirit empower believers to serve others. However, the fruit of the Spirit reflects our personal walk with God. Gifts, such as preaching and healing, can save lives, yet these are secondary to the godly character, which is essential for salvation. As Apostle Paul remarked, one must not risk being a castaway after effectively ministering to others (1 Corinthians 9:27).
A gifted person who lacks love, joy, patience, and self-control may draw crowds yet fail in his/her own spiritual journey. Reflecting on Samson's life: despite his divine strength, he fell victim to his unchecked desires (Judges 16:20). Similarly, believers must ensure that their gifts are balanced by the fruit of the Spirit.
A renowned preacher once stated that his priority was not gifts but his personal relationship with God. His focus was on remaining spiritually anchored rather than relying on outwards displays of power. Is your spiritual life sufficiently strong to sustain your gifts? Remember that gifts are tools, but the fruit is evidence of transformation. Charisma without godly character results in chaos!
Strive for a life that pleases God. Let your spiritual fruit flourish and guide your service to others, ensuring you remain connected to the Giver.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me to develop godly character and a deeper relationship with You.
2. Father, keep me focused on spiritual growth, and not just on outwards displays of gifts.
3. Ask God to strengthen CAC Printing Press, the Chairman, board members and staff, to move the establishment to a greater height, in Jesus' name.
