TIPS ON PREVENTING HYPERTENSION

When was the last time you check your BLOOD PRESSURE??

Please let's read👇

Hypertension simply means high blood pressure. It can lead to severe health complications and increase the risk of heart disease,stroke, and sometimes death.

NOTE: Normal BLOOD PRESSURE is 100/60--120/80mmHg. 130/90 could still be normal depending on one's age.

1. REGULAR PHYSICAL EXERCISE: Current guidelines recommend that all people, including those with HYPERTENSION engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity, aerobic exercise every week. e.g walking, jogging, cycling or swimming.

2. STRESS REDUCTION: Relaxation techniques such as meditation,warm baths,yoga and simply going on long walks can also help relieve stress.

3. AVOID CONSUMING ALCOHOL as moderate to excessive alcohol consumption can increase blood pressure.

4. QUIT SMOKING as smoking can increase blood pressure thereby leading to serious heart conditions and other health issues.

5. DIET: High blood pressure can be prevented by following a heart healthy diet;
**Reducing salt intake
**Eat variety of fruits and vegetables and less fat
**whole grain,high fiber foods
** Beans,pulses,nuts,fish rich in Omega-3 twice a week
** Nontropical vegetable oil e.g Olive oil
**Skinless chicken and 🐟
** Low fat daily products.

6. MANAGING BODY WEIGHT: Excess body weight can contribute to hypertension,so there's need to maintain a healthy weight to avoid overworking the heart.

*Causes Of Kidney Problems, Beware And Bewarned*

Greetings,

Kidneys are Multi-Functional Organ, they are the Power House coordinating some major activities in the Body. Some of the core actions of kidneys include:

* Acid regulation
* Waste extraction
* Blood pressure regulation
* Red blood cell regulation
* Water & Minerals level balancing
* Produce active form of vitamin D needed for bone health, etc

Because of these vital functions’ kidneys perform and the toxins they encounter, kidneys are liable to various problems, such as:

* Dehydration
* Stone formation
* Urinary tract infections
* Blood-clotting disorders
* Auto-immune kidney disorders
* Decreased blood flow caused by low blood pressure

Everyone is born with two kidneys, but many people can live on just one in case the other one pack-up as a result of any of the problems early mentioned. Acute kidney failure is a condition in which both kidneys suddenly lose their ability to function properly.

The question needed to be answered right now is, *how can one avert the menace of kidney problems?* Really, today's post answers to this therefore, let’s see them one after the other

*1) Stop delaying going to toilet:* Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A constant full bladder can cause bladder damage. Urine that stays long in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly.

Once urine refluxes back to the urethra and kidneys, it can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and nephritis (kidney inflammation), plus uremia (high levels of urea in the blood). Therefore, when nature calls, do it as soon as possible.

*2) Stop eating too much salt:* Eating salt is good, but too much of it is bad! It’s long been known that salt increases blood pressure, particularly in people with elevated levels.

Increase in blood pressure can cause damage to the blood vessels and filters in the kidney, making removal of waste from the body difficult. Therefore, you should eat salt as appropriate or eat salt not more than WHO recommended daily intake of 2,000 mg (2 grams).

*3) Stop eating too much meat:* Eating meat is also good, but eating too much protein as diet is very harmful to your kidneys. When protein digest, it produces ammonia (a toxin that is very destructive to kidneys). Therefore, more meat intake equals more kidney damage.

Here I will stop for today, to be continued in my next post. It is going to be a further eyes opener for Healthy Living. Thanks as always for being a valued reader.

*TOPIC: ANXIETY DISORDERS*

Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).

These feelings of anxiety and panic interfere with daily activities, are difficult to control, are out of proportion to the actual danger and can last a long time. You may avoid places or situations to prevent these feelings. Symptoms may start during childhood or the teen years and continue into adulthood.

Examples of anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), specific phobias and separation anxiety disorder. You can have more than one anxiety disorder. Sometimes anxiety results from a medical condition that needs treatment.

Whatever form of anxiety you have, treatment can help.
