This is the story of a retired Soldier who decided to teach his children some survival hacks that helped him to escape untimely death repeatedly.

Now open your mind as the story unfolds unleashing his great wisdom.

Soldier: 'Son, if you get stranded in the bush without food and there is no animal to kill, what would you do to survive?'

Son (Eager to show him what he had learned from him) replied: 'I would search for edible fruits and roots sir. If I'm lucky I could get some edible insects too. That should keep me alive till I find better alternatives.'

He smiled and told him, "That is quite smart of you, but you forget that trees will not have fruits all year, nor will you find edible tubers all the time."

"That's true sir, so what would I eat then?" Son asked.

"Eat the leaf. If you find a tree that produces edible fruits or tubers, you can eat the leaf. You won't die. Even cassava leaves are edible." Father said.
