Hello,
Sorry I've been awayđ, now I am back. I'd like to share a bit on THE HUMAN SKIN today, shall we proceed?
PART 1
Our skin is a big deal â literallyđ.
Itâs the largest organ in the body and one of the most complicated. It has many roles in the maintenance of life and health.
Not only does the skin hold everything in, it also plays a crucial role in providing an airtight, watertight and flexible barrier between the outside world and the highly regulated systems within the body. It also helps with temperature regulation, immune defence, vitamin production, and sensation.
The skin is unique in many ways, but no other organ demands so much attention and concern in both states of disease and health. There is a huge focus on SKIN HEALTH , WITH FIERCE COMPETITION TO HAVE GLOWING, CLEARER , HEALTHIER, YOUNGER and FRESHER skin. This focus can cause secondary problems with self-esteem and mental health. We end up running from pillar to post trying to bombard the skin with so many chemicals, causing more damage than good in the long run.
So, what exactly is our skin meant to do? How does it do it? All these and more coming up in the next post.
Stay tuned.

Good morningđ€
Hope you all had a wonderful night rest?
I would love to share about the skin benefit of CINNAMON (POWDER/OIL). Yes! It can be incorporated into your skincare ingredients for our DIY loversđđ€.
CINNAMON
Cinnamon powder comes from the bark of tropical, evergreen trees. In order to harvest cinnamon, itâs peeled off of the inside of the bark of the tree.
There are two main types of cinnamon: Ceylon and Cassia. The majority of the cinnamon youâll find at the grocery store is Cassia. Ceylon grows primarily in Sri Lanka and isnât as common.
Ceylon cinnamon may sometimes be referred to as âtrueâ cinnamon. But thereâs some debate about whether or not thatâs the case. Ceylon and Cassia are both cinnamon, but from different parts of the world and from slightly different types of trees.
Youâve probably sprinkled cinnamon on foods like toast, rolls, and desserts. But cinnamon has uses other than for topping sweets and it includes improving your skin health.
Below are some of the skin benefits of cinnamon with some DIYS included
1. Heals Acne: The anti-fungal, antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties of cinnamon makes it useful against acne and skin blemishes. Cinnamon can also help remove acne by drying out the skin and by supporting blood flow to the skin.
HOW:
Mix honey with cinnamon powder in the ratio of 3:1 and apply the paste to your skin and leave overnight. You can also apply a thin layer of the paste to your face as a face mask and leave on for about 20 minutes, then wash it off.
- Cinnamon masks may irritate the skin depending on the skin type, so they should not be applied more than once a week.
2. Adds moisture to the Skin: Cinnamon improves blood flow to the surface of the skin, resulting in a moist skin. For this, use a mixture of 3 drops of cinnamon essential oil and a few tablespoons of petroleum jelly or olive oil. Keep the mixture away from the eye to avoid a burning sensation.
This mixture could be a great substitute to your lip gloss. You can also apply any regular lip gloss on your lips and gently pat a pinch of cinnamon on top.
3. Aids the treatment of Dry Skin: Cinnamon helps remove dead skin cells and reinstate the softness of your skin. To fight against dry skin, you can make a scrub by combining salt, olive oil, almond oil, honey and ground cinnamon. Apply this mixture directly to your skin for a soothing home skin therapy.
4. Treatment of Eczema: Eczema is a condition in which skin gets inflamed and irritated. Such skin conditions leave behind light-colored patches. Cinnamon could provide relief from eczema.
HOW:
Mix one teaspoon of cinnamon with one teaspoon of honey and apply on the affected areas. The results could be visible in a week.
5. Complexion Enhancer: Thanks to the antifungal and antibacterial properties, cinnamon helps in enhancing skin complexion.
HOW:
Mix the ingredients: Banana, ground cinnamon, yogurt and lemon juice, and pound it to an even paste. Apply on your face and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.
6. Cinnamon pack for blemishes
Cinnamon is known for its blemish-eliminating property. Rich in antioxidants, cinnamon heals the skin and helps to clear away scar marks and spots from the skin.
HOW:
Dilute 2 drops of cinnamon oil in 2 drops of coconut oil and apply on the spots. You can notice the spots fade away with regular use. Alternatively, using a honey and cinnamon powder face pack can also have the same effect.
NOTE : Before using it, try in on a small test area on your skin and wash off instantly if the skin becomes red.

Good morning Fam!
Trust our Thursday is going on well.
So last week we shared a bit about physical and chemical exfoliation.
Today we will share about the different types of chemical exfoliants available out there.
CHEMICAL EXFOLIANTS
AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acids)
AHAs are a family of acids -- including glycolic, lactic, mandelic, malic and tartaric -- that are water-soluble. These are the ones you go to if texture, pigmentation, pores or a lacklustre complexion bother you.
âAHAs is a great chemical exfoliating agent that improves cell turnover for a brighter, clearer and younger appearance. They also help lighten brown spots resulting from sun damage.â
BHA (Beta-Hydroxy Acids)
BHAs -- which mainly consist of Salicylic Acid -- are oil-soluble and therefore able to dive deep into pores to dissolve excess sebum that can mix with dirt, dead skin cells and bacteria to cause blemishes. If blackheads, spots and general oiliness are your concern, go for a BHA.
Remember to be careful with salicylic acid pleaseđ, it has a drying effect, so I'll advise that it should be followed with a moisturizer.
Let's learn more about just a few of these chemical exfoliants:
Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is an AHA with the smallest molecular structure, which allows it to pe*****te the skin for deeper exfoliation.
Glycolic acid is used to improve the skinâs appearance and texture through exfoliation while reducing fine lines, hyperpigmentation, dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Lactic Acid
Lactic acid is a naturally-occurring acid thatâs more gentle than glycolic acid. Lactic acid helps exfoliate as well as speed up cell renewal and turnover. Itâs a great choice if youâre looking for a multi-tasker.
Salicylic Acid
Salicylic acid is a BHA that exfoliates the skin, reducing the number of pore blockages while building elastin and collagen. Itâs also an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory acid which helps to calm and clarify the skin, making it suitable for combination to oily and acne-prone skin but, one has to be careful with its usage.
NOTE: THESE ACIDS ARE NOT TO BE DIRECTLY USED ON THE SKIN.
You can see why physical exfoliation is the most popularly recommended form of exfoliation as its way safe and you won't risk burning yourself due to overdosing or undue exposure to sun after usage (for our DIY loversđ€Ł).

These Method is the Most popular most recommended form of exfoliation.
