Feeling feverish? Don’t assume - get tested first.

This important message why you should never self-medicate when you have symptoms like:

Clopidogrel = Antiplatelet medication that stops platelets from clumping together, thereby preventing blood clots that can cause heart attack or stroke.

Clopidogrel works by blocking platelet aggregation (platelets sticking together).

• Platelets normally stick together to form a clot when there is injury to a blood vessel.

• Clopidogrel inhibits the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets.

• This prevents ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex.

• As a result, platelets cannot stick together easily, reducing clot formation.

➡️ Reduces the risk of harmful blood clots in arteries.

Common Uses

Clopidogrel is used to prevent:
• Myocardial Infarction
• Ischemic Stroke
• Peripheral Artery Disease
• Blood clots after Coronary Stent Placement
