This is HARD to hear but it true....

I have come to the painful realization that there 2 sets of people in this world.

The first set just sit and allow life throw anything their way.

They do this by not planning their daily activities and giving constant excuses...

Excuses like, I can't read because am always busy, I can't exercise because I work, I don't have time for myself because am a mum of 2 without help.

The second set doesn't allow life to happen to them. They figure out what they want out of life and take daily steps to achieve that.

These steps doesn't have to be big

It can be reading a book on that goal you want to achieve for 10 minutes.

It can be dancing every morning for 10 minutes if you can't exercise.

Ask yourself which set you belong to.

Don't just answer, take some minutes and check your day to day activities.

Are those activities you do daily moving you towards that life you want.

That is how you determine which set you belong.

Let me tell you a little story...

I have never been a slim person but after the birth of my first child , I became over weight.

I keep looking for ways to lose weight, 6 months after I got pregnant again and the weight kept piling and piling.

When I got pregnant for my 3rd child, not only did I add weight, I developed joint and back pain.

I took drugs, herbal oo... what didn't I take

The pain will go when I take the drugs and start again later

I feel bad a the time, I kept asking myself if this was going to be my life forever ( I was 31 years then)

Then a wonderful thing happened that changed my life and health forever...

I stumbled on a video that says if " IF FOOD IS RIGHT , MEDICINE IS OF NO NEED, IF FOOD IS WRONG, MEDICINE IS OF NO USE"

Did further research and found out that the body is capable of giving you the perfect health you need , all you need is to give it the tool.

I want into action immediately, changed food I eat and the result?

Not only did I throw away all those drugs I take for pains , but I also lost weight without trying.

So if you want to permanently say good bye to cholesterol forever, start with what you feed your body.

Its just like maltreating your help and expecting her to take proper care of your kids in your absence.

Yesterday morning after my exercise, I woke my kids up to bath so they can get ready for school.

I had already bathed Kamsi(my son) and gave him towel to clean his body while I bath Kaira.

As I was bathing Kaira, I was using my side eye to look at kamsi.

I was looking at him because I noticed that each time he dry his body, its almost as if he didn't do anything.

His body will be wet.... making any clothes he wears after wet too.

So I took my time to teach him how to properly dry his body.... hence my looking at him with side eye.

This boy still boy still dries his body like someone that is very late for church.... he cleans just his head, legs and tommy.

His chest, back and every other part of his body will be wet and dripping on the tiled floor.

Seeing him do that and was about to enter his room, I shouted " how will you learnt clean your body, when you don't practice what I taught".

That statement made me pause for some minutes.... leading me to write this lesson you are reading now.

I have been trying to learn content writing since last year.

I have joined some classes.... some free and some paid, just so I become good with content creation.

Did I succeed? No

Did I become good? No

Why?

Because like Kamsi, I refused to practice what I learnt in those classes.

I kept hoping from one course to another, from one book to another without putting to practice what I learnt in the previous class.

Now I have told myself the truth and I doing better( sometimes 😄)

Exercise done.....

Exercise is one of my happy place...

Do you know that when you exercise, a FEEL-GOOD hormone is released in your body.

The work of this hormone is to make you feel good and relieve stress.

This hormone is like a drug.... when you experience it and you get used to it and soon you become addicited...

If you are a mum or someone that is always stressed.

Try exercising and see the stress gone after few days( that is if you are consistent... its not magic)

Before you wear canvas now and start jumping up and down, wait ✋

There is a trick to this....

Forcing yourself to exercise even when you don't like it is very dangerous.

Yes...

Because anything that goes against the workings of your body, the body sees it as stress.

So the exercise must be something you enjoy and feel good about...

If don't like skipping , walk

If you don't like walking, dance

If you don't like dancing.... well I don't know again for you

Sha find any form of exercise you love doing and kick that stress away for good.

You can only find out what you like or don't when you try different things.

That someone doesn't like pizza or beans or fufu etc is because they tried it out once or twice and decided it not for them.

Find out the exercise that will work for you

That Hbp, constant headaches, diabetes or any health issue you have can be taken care of by your body if only you know how to turn on the GO AHEAD TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE I HAVE button in your body.

Last week Thursday was hectic for me. I went to 2 markets to get things I needed for my kids school resumption.

I first went to a popular market here in Lagos the name of the market is katangwa but we call it super too..... I don't know why it's called super, I came to Lagos heard the name and joined the train...lol

Anyways I got socks, stationeries and 2 shoes for my son (a black boot and 1 white canvas)

From there I trekked to ile ekpo market to get green ( spinach, efo tete) and mangoes. The green is for any meal I will eating this week and the mangoes are for my kids and I.

The way we love mango ehh...... we can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner without eating qnyother food that's why I went today market to get a basket of mango because the four mangoes for 50 naira that they sell in my street will just be like an appetizer for my kids and I.

See this mango now I am carrying, na only 3 days it will last... highest 5 days if my kids are not in the mood... me am always in the mood

That I don't have money is not for mango... instead I will save 1000 daily in 4 days time I have 4k to buy 2 small baskets 😄😆

I am happy is going out of season because this mango is turning the we*apon fashioned against me in my baby girl journey 🙃

Who else love mango like me?

Facebook showed me this pictures of 6 years ago.... it brought back so memories

Nothing prepares you for changes that can happen to your body in the journey of becoming a mother.

You go for antenatal .... some use that opportunity to ex*tort money from their hubby, some sleep all through the antenatal class till e reach your turn to see the midwife or matron.

Others like me look forward to see friend , gisting and making fun of different walking steps of our fellow pregnant mums over snacks of doughnuts and cold zobo.

2 months after giving birth to this my boy, I suddenly develop this serious but funny joint pain.

Its serious because I took drugs everyday for complete 7 months just to feel alittle bit better.

I say its funny because the pain comes only when I sleep and try to get up from the bed or after sitting for sometime and i try to get up.... but the funnest part is that I will be in so much pain but 20 mins
Into getting up and walking , the pain will stop automatically till I sit or lay down again 🙃.

But something happened that helped me to he*al completely and lost weight on top without even trying.

In the bid to find a permanent solution to this joint pain, I stumbled upon a video that explained how the body is created to take of us all it need is for you to give it tools it requires to do its work.

I am no motivational speaker but here are 2 lessons I want you to take from my story.

1) life happens FOR YOU not to you.... that difficult situation that you are going through now can turn out to a blessing in the end ( what doesn't kill you makes you stronger)

2) what you think about somehow finds it way to you. Stop focusing on your pro*blems instead focus your energy on finding solutions

2018/2019 this biscuit was selling for 270 naira.

As a boarding student wey I be, I introduced it to my kids.

They didn't really like it that much, they will eat just 10 pieces and tell you they are ok.

Me, I will stay one corner looking at them with side eye and shaking my head.

If only these children know how sweet the combination of this biscuit with enough milk taste.

If they saw their mother in action back then in secondary school.

Chei.... I remember back in the days in boarding school, one pack of this biscuit finishes in my hand under 2 days ( if I want to pity my parents, I will eat it for 4 days)

That's the biscuit my kids are playing with like this😩.

Anyways ... as I say let be intentional about what I feed my body as per baby girl lifestyle, I decided to stop buying the biscuit since am the one finishing the biscuit for them.

Fast forward to last weekend hubby bought 3 packs and these children( just 2 of them) finished it under 1 week and the worst part is they don't like oat, cornflakes, moon and star cereal, goldern morn, coco balls.

I said let me be a supportive wife and buy with my money and they are telling me it now 900 naira .

Please 🙏 YALE FOODS Nigeria Limited help me oo , my children's breakfast is depending on you.

My dear woman,

Happy International Women's Day.

As a woman a lot of changes happen to our body internally from puberty to hormonal change.

Add motherhood to it and its a different story all together.

Getting married you look forward to giving birth, taking care of your baby and being called mum.

But nobody prepared you for the changes that happen immediately you become a mum.

For some it happens while still pregnant , for others after childbirth.

The low energy, hormonal imbalance, joint pain etc.

I celebrate you today.

Its a call to break barriers, challenges, and embrace a world where every woman feels valued and included.

13 POWERFUL words that will turn your life around this year

Yesterday while I was trying to read a bit (I am making it a habit to read every morning) a friend called me up that she was back.

This my friend sells food stuffs opposite my house and she traveled for 4 days for her sister's burial.

When I went to see her I told myself that I will only be gone for a few minutes and come back to continue my reading.

I quickly changed my bum short (I intentionally wear short shorts so I don't have any reason to leave my house,that will make me stick to any goal I set for myself every morning..... it might sound funny to you but na me understand)

Back to my gist......

I came outside, after the whole welcome and gist of how everything went, one thing lead to another and I was there for 1 whole hour.

I have come to understand that to achieve something and make that thing you achieved permanent, you have to figure out how to include that thing you want to achieve into your daily life.

I do most of my personal development stuff when my kids and Hubby has left the house and I'm done with house chores ..... so every minute or hour counts.

Anyways, when I came back to the house, I only had few minutes to make my food, eat and head straight to the market before going to school runs.

This brings me to the 13 powerful words I said will turn your life around for the better this year.

"YOU ARE THE SUM TOTAL OF THE 5 PEOPLE YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME WITH "

Think about it for a minute

The kind of people you surround yourself with with contribute a great due to how fast you achieve what about goal you set for yourself.

Heck..... some we even make you not to achieve the goal at all.

I say this not only because it has been proven but I am a living testimony

I am writing this at 5:29 a.m. do you know why?

I read some newsletters this morning from Mr Toyin Omotoso and it fired me up this morning.... you can see it because I'm already writing to you this morning.

Remember "you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with"

PS; even if you don't have people physically that you can surround yourself with, you can find them online.

Find them and start achieving that goal you set for yourself.

Thinking about this now this sentence applies to every aspect of life.

Your health becomes the average of the food you eat the most

Your financial becomes the average of work you invest in yourself

Your thinking...... like the sum of the people you spend the most time with

And so on

Just to be clear, the idea is to…

Work together with your body and give its EXACTLY what it needs

E.g. the body only recognises just 6 things as food, your job is to listen and give it those foods

You achieve this through understanding exactly what the body needs.

Once you understand what your body needs and you start giving it to it… your body becomes your defender.

HOW TO LOSE 5KG IN 30 DAYS

So, one of the questions I get a lot is this:

“luchi, how can I lose 5kg in 30 days? whats the best method to lose weight?

There are so many ways to lose weight

Let me explain it like this

2 friends went to a restaurant to eat.... they ordered a bowl of spaghetti each.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was so booked that the only cutlery left was a fork and spoon.

The friend with the spoon complained but decided to eat her food since they were hungry.

The spoon was hard to eat the spaghetti with but she managed to finish but the friend with fork finish before her.

Thats the same thing with weightloss, the destination is to lose weight but the method you use will determine if its going to be a struggle for you just like the friend with the spoon or easy for you.

There is intermittent fasting, keto, omad, portion control, Daniel fast, alternate day fasting etc

The best method to lose weight should be the one you see yourself doing for a long period of time.

The best method shouldn't look like punishment, if it does, it only a matter of time before you give up.

Also if its like a punishment to you , your body sees it as stress( that is why you keep doing that thing you are doing but not seeing results)

Let me tell you this , whenever you stress, your body releases a hormone called cortisol.... this hormone encourages the body to store fat.

You see why you have been stress but keep adding?

The best way that has worked for me to go from 107kg to 76kg and maintain it for 5+ years now is simple daily habit creating but it starts with understanding your body.

I say this method is best because its fun and you don't have to give up on things or food that gives you joy( like how am daily dreaming of mango 😄)

All you need to do is find ways to turn those same activities you do daily like walking, eating, watching TV etc to a healthier activity.

If you can do this consistently for 30days you will NEVER EVER worry about losing weight again.
