HOW TO EFFECTIVELY GET RID OF WHITEHEADS Hello guys! Hope all is going well with your skin?
How are we working towards our skincare goals for this year?
Today I will be discussing whiteheads. Whiteheads can be very unsightly! You probably notice them after you shower and apply your cream, you see them closed in into your pores with the white top heads shooting out, some people call them fat and squeeze their nose upwards quite painfully to push them out. They appear all over the nose and the cheeks and chin where they seem to be most prominent. Whiteheads develop when dead skin cells, sebum oil, and dirt clog your pores. Unlike blackheads, which can be pushed out, whiteheads are closed within the pore. This can make treatment a bit more challenging. Rather than making the situation worse by scratching it off or picking at them or pushing your nose upwards to squeeze them out, there are tried and tested ways that I use to take them out.
1) EXFOLIATION- Exfoliation helps to take them off but since we only exfoliate twice weekly and at night, what happens when you spot them on a morning, days away from exfoliation day?
2) STEAMING- Steaming helps to unclog pores and thus melt off excess sebum oil trapped with dirt into your pores causing white heads, but what if you didn't steam and really need to take them off?
3) THE EGG WHITE /TISSUE TREATMENT MASK- This is my go-to process for taking whiteheads off. Apply egg white over your face, divide sheets of tissue paper and stick over your face where egg white is applied and stick it on with more egg white. Leave to dry and carefully remove and on close examination of the tissue, you will see all the uprooted whiteheads.
