According to reports, the incident started when a passenger boarded the driver's vehicle and paid ₦500 for a route that previously cost ₦400. The driver reportedly explained that transport fares on the route had increased and that commuters were already aware of the new ₦500 charge.

However, the passenger allegedly insisted that he was unaware of the fare increase and demanded his ₦100 change. The disagreement quickly escalated, with the passenger reportedly thr£4tening to call some boys to ass4ult the driver if the money was not returned.

The driver allegedly stood his ground and challenged the passenger to carry out the thr£4t. Sensing that the situation could spiral out of control, an older colleague reportedly intervened and advised the driver to refund the ₦100 in the interest of peace. The driver complied, believing the matter had ended there.

Unknown to him, the passenger had allegedly taken a photograph of him during the altercation.

Days later, the driver was shocked to learn that his photograph had been posted online alongside claims identifying him as a one-chance driver and k1dn4pper operating in Benin City. The post reportedly urged members of the public to shäre it widely to "save l1ves."

The allegations spread rapidly across social media, with thousands of people allegedly reposting the image and w4rning others to stay away from the man.

The driver reportedly remained unaware of the viral accusations until someone who knew him visited his home and informed him that his photograph was circulating online with serious cr1minal allegations attached to it.

F£4ring for his safety and reputation, the driver immediately went to a police station to make an official report. According to reports, he even wore the exact same clothes he had on during the altercation in an effort to demonstrate that he was the individual featured in the viral photograph.

The incident allegedly occurred last Saturday, and since then, hundreds of thousands of people are said to have viewed, shared, or interacted with the post branding him a cr1minal.

The development has sparked concerns about the d4ngers of social media mi6information and the deva6tating consequences that unverified accusations can have on innocent people.
