This is hilarious but to be frank, my mum knows every single trick to naturally looking beautiful.


Some years ago I found her over 22years old diary and it dawned on me that she is an encyclopedia of organic beauty recipes.


See, let me tell you, nothing in this life is a new discovery, we just recycle old fashioned stuff and boom, it starts to trend.

The truth is this, my mum was not telling us to use this cucumber for our skin care, in fact she was telling us that cucumber do chase evil spirits and bad luck away from us (if it is true, I do not know). So, she was spiritually trying to cleanse us, lolz. My sisters and I use to disagree and in most cases, say no to what she was telling us to do till something happened.


One of my sisters got her call up letter for her NYSC and found out that she was to serve in the North, Kaduna to be precise. And you know how harsh the whether could be there.


So when she came back, she was all burnt up by the sun, her skin was darker and all dried up like Kilishi sold in Abuja. It was not funny to her and she was seriously looking for solutions when mum called her to do the one thing that we always run away from, chase bad luck and spirits away.


I’m just laughing at those memories and how my sister wanted to yell at her.


Las las she said yes to it and went in for the treat.


Mum got three cucumbers, grinded all of them manually and separated the water from the chaff. She then poured the small cucumber water in a bowl and gave it to my sister to go to the bathroom to do what she calls ‘Massage’.


Now this Massage of a thing is very simple. All we do is to evenly pour the cucumber water on our body in such a way that it will get to touch every part of our body. To achieve this, we use our hands to scoop the cucumber water and then rub it evenly on every single part of our body.


Once we are done, we stay in the bathroom naked and allow our body to suck it up and if there is any one still remaining we repeat the process and also wait for it to dry before coming out of the bathroom.


We normally do this at night, and what happens in the morning is that we notice a lot of dirty clogs coming out from our eyes and other parts of our body.


Now my sister noticed that her skin burn drastically reduced, there was serious improvement. Then she started doing it every other night and she did not only regain her skin color, her skin got softer and wonderfully better than how it was before she went for her NYSC camp.
