"Garri is our food. Leave garri alone."
No.
Garri is cassava that has been fermented, dried, and fried.
When you soak it with cold water and groundnut — fine.
Small portion.
Occasional.
Nobody died.
But that is not what most of you are doing.
You are drinking garri with three spoons of sugar and milk at 9 p.m.
You are eating eba the size of your head with soup that is 60% palm oil and 40% hope.
You are combining garri with white rice in the same week and wondering why your blood sugar is doing the azonto.
Garri is not poison.
But the way you eat it is.
A fist-sized portion of eba with a protein-heavy soup once or twice a week is one thing.
Garri and sugar every night before bed is metabolic sabotage dressed as tradition.
Nobody is attacking your culture.
Your culture also gave you bitter leaf, ugu, crayfish, fermented locust beans, and palm oil.
Your culture gave you a balanced plate.
You abandoned the balance and kept the garri.
That is not tradition.
That is selection bias with a side of denial.

Your blood pressure is finally controlled. Your energy is gone. Nobody connected the two.
Let me connect them.
A drug does not only add something to your body. Sometimes it quietly takes something out — and the thing it takes is often what was keeping you standing.
Two of the most common things handed to a man with high blood pressure: a beta-blocker — the ones ending in “-olol,” metoprolol, atenolol — and very often a statin for cholesterol beside it. Sometimes a water pill on top.
All three quietly drain the same thing. CoQ10.
CoQ10 is not a supplement-shop gimmick. It is the spark inside your cells — what your mitochondria use to turn food into actual energy. And the organ that hoards the most of it, that cannot beat without it, is your heart.
Sit with that.
The drug protecting your heart can, over months, drain the very fuel your heart muscle runs on.
So the readings improve — and the man feels worse. Tired by midday. Legs heavy on the stairs. Muscles aching for no reason he can name. He says he is “managing.” Everyone files it under stress, or age, or “that is just the BP.”
It was never stress. It was a slow withdrawal nobody was watching.
Now hear me clearly, because this is where people get reckless: this is NOT a reason to touch your tablets. The drug stays. It is holding a dangerous number down — a job food cannot do in that moment. You do not reduce it. You do not stop it. That is between you and your doctor, always. Your doctor did their job.
But the prescription is only half the conversation. The half nobody manages is the gap the drug leaves behind — and that gap is closed at the table, not the pharmacy. Liver. Heart. Sardines. Mackerel. The foods that carry back what the medicine drains.
This is the part most diet “plans” have never heard of. They hand a hypertensive man a list of “healthy” foods written by someone who never once asked what is in his drug cabinet.
I ask.
Every plan I build starts with a question almost no one is asked: what are you taking — and what is it quietly taking from you?
Feeding a body without knowing what its medication is draining is like pouring water into a bucket without checking for the hole.
If you are on long-term medication and nobody has ever explained why your numbers improved but your energy disappeared, do not settle for "that is just getting older."

Every plan is built around your body, your condition, and the medications you are taking, alongside the care of your doctor.
The goal is not just better numbers on a chart.
The goal is getting your life back.

STOP FEEDING YOUR FIBROID.
Fibroids are one of the silent struggles many women carry.
Sometimes you don’t even know it’s there until your period becomes heavier, your stomach looks bloated, or the ultrasound suddenly shows “multiple fibroids.”
At first, it looks small.
The doctor says it’s nothing to worry about.
But by the time you go for another scan months later, it has grown again.
From the size of a coin to the size of an orange.
From an orange to a grapefruit.
And for some women, it can grow as big as a watermelon.
— Painful periods.
— Frequent urination.
— Difficulty conceiving.
— Even miscarriages.
This is the reality for many women.
Here’s the part most people don’t understand: Your diet plays a powerful role in fibroid growth.
You’ve been told it’s just “hormones.”
Yes, hormones are involved but what controls those hormones?
— Your food.
— Your lifestyle.
— Your choices every single day.
Fibroids thrive in an environment of high sugar, insulin resistance, and inflammation.
When you keep eating bread, noodles, biscuits, fruit juice, soda, and all the “little sweet things,” you are not just enjoying life, you are unknowingly feeding your fibroid.
Sugar doesn’t just sit in your body.
— It spikes your insulin.
— It fuels chronic inflammation.
— It throws your estrogen and progesterone balance out of order.
And those are the exact conditions fibroids need to grow.
That’s why many women keep wondering:
“Why does it feel bigger after my surgery?”
“Why did it come back after the removal?”
The truth is: surgery only removes the fibroid, it does not remove the environment that grew it.
If you keep living the same way, your body will keep producing the same results.
So what should you do?
Cut off refined sugar and processed carbs.
They don’t nourish you, they only feed the problem.
Avoid seed oils and junk food that cause more inflammation.
Instead, choose healthier fats like avocado, coconut oil, and olive oil.
Eat real food.
Fill your plate with vegetables, quality proteins like fish, eggs, and organ meats — these are nutrient-dense and help your body heal.
Practice intermittent fasting.
It’s not a trend. It helps regulate insulin, reset your hormones, and gives your body space to repair.
Stay away from alcohol and smoking.
Both create hormonal chaos that fibroids thrive on.
This is not about scaring you.
It’s about waking you up to the reality that your fibroid is not just “growing on its own.”
It is responding to the internal environment you create every day with your food and lifestyle.
Surgery can take it out.
But your diet determines whether it grows back.
Stop feeding your fibroid.
Start feeding your body what it truly needs.
Your body will thank you.

SHE THOUGHT HER SON WAS JUST A SICKLY CHILD UNTIL SHE REMOVED THE REAL TRIGGER HIDING IN HIS FOOD.
For six long years, her first son lived in and out of the hospital.
— Cough today.
— Distress tomorrow.
— Breathing problems.
— Broncho pneumonia.
— Sleepless nights.
— Emergency admissions.
— Antibiotics, inhalers and fear.
She learned to pack hospital bags quickly.
She learned to stay awake listening to his breathing.
She learned the sound of his cough the way some mothers learn their children’s laughter.
Even without an asthma diagnosis, his symptoms told the story clearly.
Then one day she stumbled on this page.
She did not argue.
She did not overthink.
She simply tried.
When you have watched your child struggle, you become willing to test anything that looks like hope.
That was when her life and his began to change.
She removed the cereals.
She removed the bread.
She removed the sugar hidden inside their normal breakfast.
She removed the drinks and the biscuits she thought were harmless.
Instead, she gave him real food in the morning.
— Eggs.
— Whole meals.
Not chemicals disguised as breakfast.
The result was shocking.
The boy who lived on antibiotics.
The boy who slept with inhalers.
The boy who entered distress after a single cough.
He has not been admitted since May.
No hospital visits.
No antibiotics.
No weekly allergy reactions that required medication.
For the first time ever, they have gone months without stepping into a hospital.
She said something that stayed with me:
“I realized the wheat I was giving him was the problem.”
Sometimes the enemy is not the sickness.
Sometimes it is the food we were told is healthy.
Now she is teaching her children why sugar and bread are not harmless.
Why real food matters.
Why their bodies deserve better.
Her son is breathing better.
Sleeping better.
Living better.
All she did was change his breakfast.
No complications.
No long list of drugs.
No constant fear.
Just food.
Just awareness.
Just a mother choosing to take health into her hands.
If you are reading this and your child battles allergies, cough, repeated infections or unexplained reactions, understand this.
Sometimes the solution is not more medicine.
Sometimes it is removing the burden their little bodies have been trying to fight alone.
When you are ready to learn what to remove and what to replace, I am here to guide you.

You are not lazy.
You are not weak.
You are tired in a way that sleep stopped fixing a long time ago, and you have decided that is just who you are now.
You wake up already tired.
You push through the day with willpower and caffeine. By evening, you have nothing left for the people you love, and you feel guilty about that on top of everything else.
You have explained it away a hundred times. Stress. Children. Work. Getting older. Hormones. And maybe it is some of those things.
But a body that stays tired no matter how much it sleeps is trying to tell you something. It may be about your blood, your sugar levels, what you are feeding it, or nutrients it is quietly lacking. Exhaustion that sleep cannot fix is not a personality trait. It is a signal.
You have been apologising for being tired for years. You were never the problem. Something underneath has been asking for help in the only way it knows how.
You are allowed to feel well again. Most women in this position have simply never been shown how.
If you have been apologising for being tired for years, stop accepting exhaustion as your normal.
The body has been trying to get your attention for a long time.
Reach out alongside your doctor's report on WhatsApp: +2349118909688 and let us help you understand what may be driving the fatigue.
You deserve more than survival.
You deserve your energy back.

LIE: YOGHURT IS GOOD FOR YOUR GUT.
ONE.
The yoghurt in your fridge was chosen by a marketing department, not a microbiologist.
“Gut health” is written on the front.
The truth is written on the back, in smaller letters, where they hoped you would not look.
TWO.
Read that back panel.
Sugar is usually in the first three ingredients.
Sometimes it is dressed up — fruit preparation, glucose syrup, “natural fruit sugars.”
Different costume. Same visitor.
THREE.
Now, think about what bacteria you were told not to feed.
You are pouring sugar into your gut and calling it a repair job.
Feeding the very organisms you were trying to starve, in a cup with a picture of a strawberry on it.
FOUR.
The low-fat one is worse.
Take the fat out and it tastes like wet chalk — so they put sugar back in to make it edible.
Low fat is not a health choice.
It is a sugar delivery decision.
FIVE.
And the fat you removed was the part that would have slowed the whole thing down.
SIX.
In fairness — and this court is fair — plain, unsweetened, full-fat yoghurt is a different food entirely.
Real fermented dairy, nothing added.
If you tolerate dairy, it earns its place.
It is the sweetened cup pretending to be that food which is on trial here.
SEVEN.
Check yours this morning.
If sugar is in the first three ingredients, it was never medicine.
It was dessert wearing a lab coat.
Which one is in your fridge right now?
Go and read the back.
Then come and tell me what you found.

Stop eating out.
Eating out means giving up control over what’s really in your food.
When you eat out, you are not in control of the ingredients in the food.
They use too much artificial seasoning, seed oils, and other unhealthy ingredients to cook most meals you eat outside.
Even the cooking environment is not always hygienic.

YOU'RE POPPING AMYLODOPINE, BUT STILL DRINKING SOFT DRINKS. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Your BP is 170/100.
You’re dizzy. Tired. Can’t sleep. Your heart pounds at night like a distant drum.
Doctor gives you Amlodipine. You feel a little better.
So you celebrate with a cold bottle of sugary drink.
Again.
And again.
Tell me, what exactly are you treating?
High blood pressure is not just “salt” or “family problem.”
— It’s cellular inflammation.
— It’s insulin resistance.
— It’s your kidneys begging for mercy while you pour acid down your throat.
Amlodipine controls symptoms.
Soft drinks enables the disease.
You cannot fix hypertension by drugging the symptoms and feeding the root cause.
That thing you drink?
It spikes your blood sugar.
That sugar damages your blood vessels.
Damaged vessels raise blood pressure.
Your kidneys get overworked trying to flush the mess.
And you?
You’re chasing it with another sugary drink.
You post your BP readings like it’s a bank account: “125/85 today!”
Meanwhile, you had meat pie and malt for breakfast.
No protein.
No minerals.
Just sugar and trans fat on a tired liver.
You’ve created a routine that treats numbers not your body.
High BP is a metabolic condition.
And you’re feeding the dysfunction with every gulp of soft drink.
You pop Amlodipine but drink sugary drinks daily.
You eat noodles under stress with egg and sausage.
You skip water but take energy drinks.
You say “I’m trying” but never check food labels.
You avoid salt but drink sugar.
Stop lying to yourself.
Sugar increases insulin, which holds on to sodium and fluid in the body.
— More sodium means more pressure.
— More pressure means more damage.
— More damage means more medication.
Your blood pressure is screaming. But your taste buds are still in control?
You don’t need a new drug. You need to build discipline.
Your body is not confused, you are.
You are not cursed.
You are not just "getting older."
You are inflamed. Overfed. Undernourished.
And your arteries are paying the price.
That tiredness.
That swelling in your feet.
That ringing in your ears at night.
It’s not random.
It’s your body begging you to stop.
You don’t need detox teas. You need a new relationship with your plate.
Because your medication is managing symptoms not curing anything.
Don’t forget to reach out for a well-structured meal plan. Share this with someone who needs a wake-up call.

Margarine.
Let me tell you what is actually in that tub.
They take vegetable oil, which is already a problem, and pump hydrogen gas through it at high pressure until it hardens.
The process is called hydrogenation.
It creates a substance that does not exist anywhere in nature.
No plant produces it.
No animal produces it.
No soil, river, or forest on earth contains it.
It is manufactured in a factory by machines.
Then they add yellow colouring because, without it, margarine is grey.
Not off-white.
Not cream.
Grey.
The colour of industrial paste. The colour of something no human being would willingly spread on bread.
Then they put a sunflower on the label, write “heart healthy,” put it in a bright tub, place it next to the butter in the supermarket, and price it cheaper.
And millions of mothers spread it on their children’s bread every morning, thinking they are making a healthy choice.
Here is what margarine does inside the body.
The hydrogenation process creates trans fats.
Trans fats raise LDL cholesterol, the kind that infiltrates damaged blood vessel walls.
Trans fats lower HDL cholesterol, the kind that protects the vessels.
They do both at the same time.
No other fat does this.
Trans fats incorporate into cell membranes.
The same membranes I explained in the Inner Circle post about seed oil.
The same ones that need to be flexible and functional for insulin to dock, for hormones to land, and for nutrients to enter.
Trans fats make those membranes rigid, dysfunctional, and deaf to signals.
Trans fats drive inflammation.
Systemic inflammation and Chronic inflammation.
The kind that underlies heart disease, diabetes, fatty liver, and every condition the margarine label claims to prevent.
The food industry told an entire generation that butter was dangerous and sold them an industrial replacement that was worse than everything it replaced.
Butter has been on the human plate for thousands of years.
Margarine has existed for less than 150 years.
And in that time, heart disease went from rare to the leading cause of death on earth.
Coincidence is a comfortable word.
Use butter.
Use coconut oil.
Use palm oil.
Use what the body recognises.
Leave the grey paste on the shelf.
