I have said it to myself many times, and today I boldly say it again to the public: since the creation of Niger State, there has never been a Deputy Governor quite like His Excellency, Comrade Yakubu Garba.

Shortly after the wedding Fātiha of his beloved daughter, Maryam, to Ahmed, His Excellency graciously ensured that his grandson, Umar Faruq Sani, the first son of Sarkin Yaki, had the memorable opportunity to meet his grandfather, Comrade Yakubu Garba.

This noble gesture goes far beyond protocol it reflects a leader whose heart is firmly rooted in compassion, respect for family heritage, and the preservation of generational bonds.
