*FAINTING OR SLUMPING IN THE BATHROOM,*

*What is the cause?*

We always hear of people who have stroke after a fall in the bath.
Why have we not heard of falling elsewhere?

When I took part in a healthy lifestyle course, a National Sports Council Professor, who also participated in the course, advised that:

👉 the head should not be washed first in the process of taking a bath (even washing of the hair).

👉 other parts of the body should be cleaned first.
This is because when the head is wet & cold, blood will flow to the head to warm it up.

👉 If the blood vessels have narrowed, it is likely to cause the blood vessels to rupture.

Since it usually happens in the bathroom, be sure to raise the awareness to avoid this happening again.

*CORRECT PROCESS OF BATH TAKING:*
👉 Start the wetness from the sole of the foot.
👉 Progress to the Small legs, the thigh, abdomen & then shoulder.
At this point, pause for 5-10 seconds.

👉 A feeling like steam/wind overflowing from the body may be observed; & then take a shower as usual.

*✅ WISDOM:*
When a glass is filled with hot water & then suddenly emptied & filled with cold water; what happens?
👉 The glass will burst💥!!

Then, with regards to the human body, what happens?
Naturally, the body temperature is very hot, whereas the water is very cold,
👉 a cold shower on the body or the head directly would suddenly trap the wind, or deaden it, because the blood vessels got broken.

This is why people often suddenly fall over in the bathroom; due to wrong bathing method. And that often causes a stroke or causes a migraine.

*ADVICE:*
🚿This bathing method is suitable for all ages, especially those with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol & Migraine/Headache

*WHY DO YOU LOCK THE DOOR OF YOUR BATHROOM?*

Some years ago, I went for a book Launch in Abuja.

After the day's event and in preparation for the next day, and as my custom was, I went into the bathroom to have a shower before bed.

While washing up, I slipped, hitting my head on the tiled wall, and fell badly to the ground. It was all so sudden. I often choose to have my bath in the shower & not the bathtub.

And I have never fallen in a bathroom before.

At that moment on the floor, I felt something like a liquid moving inside my head.

I panicked. My doors were all locked.

Thank God that I didn't black out.

There was that instant sharp head ache, intensely all over my head.

I managed to crawl out of the bathroom and lay on the floor on my left lateral position. Calmly. For several minutes. I would not risk a fast move to the phone.

Calmly observing every ounce of the events in my body.

I stabilized except for the new hip joint pain and headache.

It was close to midnight now.

In the morning, I went to the hospital for a check.

I cancelled my book Launch engagement. I was supposed to do a speech.

While checking out of the hotel, I requested to see the manager and made a formal complaint. I told her I expected a hotel like theirs to either have an anti-slip mat or make the flooring tiles anti-slip.

While flying back to base, I remembered an incident I attended in the hospital...

Her husband travelled.

It was one Sunday morning, a lady went into her bathroom to have a bath, and she locked the door.

She was alone with her little son.

As the beans she was cooking began to burn, the little boy called out to mummy, and there was no response.

He banged on the bathroom door, yet no response.

When the burning intensified, he took the phone and called his daddy, who had travelled out.

Thank God the little knows his mother's phone password.

His dad called their neighbors, who rushed into their house and broke the bathroom door to find her on the floor, almost lifeless.

On their way to the hospital, she died.

She possibly died of intracranial haemorrhage following the fall in the bathroom.

She could have been saved if she had been rescued on time. A Burr hole emergency brain surgery would have saved her life to drain out the bleeding in her brain.

Why do we lock the bathroom doors when it is just ourselves and our family in the house?

Many bathroom accidents are fatal and instant.

As much as you don't wish to encounter any accident, let us make provisions for us to be reached should it ever happen.

And again, stop rushing for your phone while bathing. Let it ring.

As a medical doctor, I've attended to many who got Spinal Cord permanent injuries resulting from rushing to pick their phone calls while bathing.
That's dangerous.
Ignore the call to avoid a slip and falling. You can always call back.

Before you conclude that your situation is bad and ugliest, look well!
"Maka na ejighi ututu ama njo ahia!"
If possible take a tour to the mortuary!
Go to any closer general hospital and walk round the wards- male, female, children, emergency, intensive care unit, etc.
Believe me if you come out from these places and still complain about bad condition, Omo, check well!
