I0 POWERFUL SPIRITUAL TREES IN IGBOLAND (PART 1)

1. ANỤNỤEBE (Nnụnụebe):

This is the king of all spiritual trees in Igboland. It is an oracle tree, the most powerful and fearful. No humans gets close to it except power dibia and spiritualists. Even birds do not perch on it as the name indicates. Any bird that does so dies instantly. Thunder does not strike it. The leaves can cure leprosy and other dangerous diseases.

2. ỌJỊ (Iroko) -
This serves as a cathedral for shrines. It is renowned for its size, strength, nobility and resilience. It takes a ritual of kola nut or even the killing of a cow to cut it down or transplant it.

3. OGIRISI -
This is another ritual tree known for its power for ritual Cleansing. It is also useful for marking boundaries and graves. It is ageless and can outlive many generations. The leaves are favourite for herbalists.

4. ỌFỌ -
This is the tree that produces the ọfọ wand, the symbol of justice and authority. It is with this that the Igbo elders deliver judgment, important declaration and prayers. The ofo wand is not cut with knife but falls off on its own from its natural joints. It has a common and unique shape believed to have been designed by the ancestors.

5. AKPỤ (Silk cotton tree):
This tree is considered to be an abode of spirits of unborn children. To consult it increases chances of pregnancy. Some towns still worship it for favours received in the past.

6. ACHỊ -
This tree is a portal for ancestors and houses spirits. It is noted for its size and big shade. It is also renowned for its good fruits.

7. NGWU -
This is a tree known as the symbol of wisdom and innocence (Ọ ma ụma egbu NGWU mma ya adịkwana nkọ). It harbours spirits and is revered and worshipped by many families and towns.

8. ỤDALA (african apple):
This is regarded as the domain where unborn children dwell. Barren women used to visit the tree during mid-morning (mgbachị) to seek favour. It is forbidden to climb the tree to bring down the fruits or to sell the fruits in the market. The fruits are regarded as the symbol of young maidens. It takes a ritual to transplant it from one location to another.

9. AGBA -
This is a renowned for its quality and strength. It symbolizes power and control. The wood is reddish and very strong and compact.

10. ERIGHERI -
This is a big tree usually found in village squares. It is believed to possess the spirits of ancestors who moderate village meetings

SPIRITUALLY POWERFUL TREES.
Hello everyone, let's enjoy another deep knowledge
of our spirituality Odinani. Today, we shall talk
about the fact that all the awakened people of
Ndi Gbo, posses one/more or all of these trees.
Amazing part of it is the fact that, all these trees
comes by themselves and may not be planted
by humans.

ORJI / IROKO TREE.
Orji is one of mightiest trees known to man
and spirits. In Afa language, it's called AKA
ATULUKPA. It has massive spiritual working
spirits. A powerful dibia/ezenwanyi, needs
Orji for spiritual works. Many do not understand
this fact, but Orji has spirits that does almost
all mighty works in odinani. Oke osisi Orji, is
needed when a mighty spiritual work is needed
done.

NGWU -
This very tree is another with a special kind
of power. It's literally strength. Ngwu is just
pure strength and all rooted dibias and Ezenwanyi
needs strength/Ngwu to perform powerful
works. Okala Ose, is what Ngwu is known as
in spiritual world, afa thought us so. Ngwu is
pure tree of power. Reason there's a saying
OOMA-UMA EGBU NGWU, NMA ADIHI/AGAHI
ADIRI NKOO. meaning anyone trying to kill
a person with spirit of ngwu around, is a mere
time.waster.

OJUKWU -
Gentle in Her dealings. Ojukwu is a female tree
of power. She posses the power to neutralise
any evil existence/charms / energies. She looks
like palm tree but much smaller. The palm oil
from Ojukwu, is used in preparing many medicines,
to include anti-poison medicines. It's also used
in creating lotions and soaps, for good skin
and healings of both skin and body. Okala Ovu
/Ofu, is what She is called spiritually. You cannot
spiritually poison anyone with Ojukwu tree/spirit.

AKPUU / AKPU -
This mighty tree is just as massive as Orji/Iroko
but have spikes on the body. It grows cotton
wool look alike. Very massive and often times
grows very straight with the entire body seriously
covered with spikes, making it impossible to
be climbed. OKALETE is what Akpu is known
as in spiritual world. She leads in spiritual wars
and must be why she's covered with spikes.
Very mighty. There's male and female Akpu.

OSISI OFOR.
The mighty of the mighty Ofo, is the tree of justice.
The tree that holds all together. The tree that in
reality, is life. Above all other trees, Ofor is the
power behind all in full balanced spirituality of
Odinani. Bearer may not commit any evil.
Owner of ofor tree, must do all to avoid defilement
Or committing any form of nkiti/sin/evil. Ofo
could be said to be the rarest amongst all other
trees of powers. Very few people posses Ofo tree
in this journey. Aka Otulee OFOR IGBO, ndewo

Then there are trees like ORA/OHA, EBENEBE,
OGILISI, UDARA, UGILI, AKUYEBILISI, UGBODOAGAUGBODOAGA, EGBUU, UKPAKA
and more. They come by selves too, but also could
be planted by humans. But seriously powerful
spiritually.

It's very important to know your own tree(s), for
you shall need them along this mighty journey.
We appease them as well. They do works of
goodness Odinani for us and are members of
our arobunagu, so we appease them. We also
include them in our daily libations/igoo oji and
they may not be cut down. We tie white clothes
On them to cover their nakedness.

Look for your own and take care of it/them. You
are planted by Ani of your people and can't be
taken down by anyone, just like your tree(s).
Non of the trees mentioned above, could be
taken down without due consultations with
powers that be. Same goes for the bearers.

Akwali omumu is for money and wealth, Omumu which means child birth/ fertility, akwali omumu is the dual God and Goddess of fertility and riches.
