There are some easy and simple steps to bear in mind after knowing your skin type. These will help in effective body maintenance ๐๐๐
๐งก Oily skin: Keep in mind, just because oily skin produces more natural oils, it doesn't mean that it requires any less moisture than other skin types. It requires skin care products that hydrate and does not trigger pores and breakouts.
๐งก Dry skin: A simple way to care for dry skin is to use a gentle, soothing & hydrating ingredients that help maintain the skin's hydration level.
๐งก Normal skin: Due to the fact that normal skin does not have specific skin issues, it requires proper care to look it's best, such as the use of moisten and protective products to maintain a healthy look.
๐งก Combination skin: This skin type requires cleansing and regular hydration to balance the dry and oily zones and also, the use of safe body care products to avoid skin reactions or irritations.
๐งก Sensitive skin: Sensitive skins are easily triggered. Special attention should be made to things that may cause irritation such as highly formulated body care products.
WHAT TYPE OF SKIN DO I HAVE
Understanding your skin type is the first step in properly caring for it. How can l identify my skin type?
Your skin type is based on the amount of sebum (oil) your skin produces. Here are the main indicators to keep in mind when deciphering the type of your skin.
๐Oily skin :Oily skin produces an excess of sebum that causes the skin to appear shiny & feel greasy- especially throughout the T-zone(forehead, nose, chin). People with oily skin may tend to have less wrinkles but may also be prone to enlarged pores, acne blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads.
๐Dry skin : A dry skin generally produces less natural oils than other skin types . This may cause it to appear dull and become rough, flaky or scaly. It often feels tight or less elastic, dehydrated and may be prone to showing more visible fine lines. The skin tends to itch or irritate more.
๐ Normal skin: A normal skin is balanced- feeling neither too dry nor too oily. It is not prone to breakouts, flakiness, or feeling greasy or tight. People with normal skin usually have a smooth skin texture and are less prone to sensitivity or blemishes.
๐ Combination skin: These includes the areas that are dry as well as oily with the T-zone commonly being oily, and the checks being either dry or normal.
๐ Sensitive skin: is often referred to as a skin type, but it's possible to have an oily sensitive skin, dry skin or normal sensitive skin. Regardless of which skin type you have, a sensitive skin may appear red, and feel like it's burning, itching, or dry.
Your skin type can vary during different seasons of the year and due to various factors such as stress, or hormone flunctuations.
