Chestnuts 🌰
Chestnuts are found primarily in China, the United States, South Korea, Italy, Greece, and South America. These types of nuts are grown on trees or shrubs. While the nuts can be eaten at harvest, they are somewhat bland. They are best if stored in the refrigerator for a few days to change the starches to sugars. Chestnuts can be eaten raw if peeled, or can be roasted to prepare for consumption. They can also be candied, boiled, steamed, deep-fried, or grilled. Chestnuts are high in carbohydrates, as opposed to oils as is found with most nuts. They are used in desserts such as cakes and pies, but can also be used as a thickener for soups and sauces. ❤️
A toothache is a pain in and around the teeth and jaws. It can be caused by tooth decay, infection, loose or broken fillings, or receding gums.
If the pain persists for more than a day or two, you should get treatment from a dentist immediately.
In the meanwhile, the following basic home remedies may provide temporary relief from the discomfort.
1. A salt water rinse is an effective first-line treatment for many patients. Salt water is a natural disinfectant that can aid in the removal of food particles and debris caught between your teeth. Toothache treatment with salt water heals oral wounds and minimizes inflammation. To employ this method, dissolve 1/2 teaspoon (tsp) of salt in a glass of warm water and gargle with it.
2. An excellent antibacterial mouthwash is rinsing with a hydrogen peroxide solution, especially if a toothache is caused by an infection. Because hydrogen peroxide is harmful if swallowed, extreme caution is required when rinsing. It should be made up of equal parts 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and water and swished for 30 seconds in the mouth. After spitting it out, rinse your mouth with normal water several times. A hydrogen peroxide rinse should never be eaten, and it is not suitable for youngsters.
3. You can use a cold compress to reduce any pain you're having, especially if your toothache is the result of trauma. The blood vessels in the affected area constrict when you use a cold compress. This reduces the severity of the pain. Swelling and inflammation can be reduced by the cold. Hold a towel-wrapped bag of ice to the affected area for 20 minutes at a time to apply this method. This can be done every several hours.
4. Peppermint, like cloves, has numbing qualities that might help relieve toothaches. Menthol, the ingredient that gives peppermint its minty flavor and aroma, is also antimicrobial. One teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves can be steeped for 20 minutes in a cup of boiling water. It can be swished around in the mouth, then spat out once it has cooled. A slightly warm, moist tea bag can also be used to relieve the discomfort by holding it against the tooth for several minutes. As a temporary fix, a cotton ball soaked in peppermint oil can be placed against the impacted tooth.
5. Garlic has been used for medical purposes for thousands of years. It can also work as pain relief in addition to killing potentially harmful microorganisms. To treat toothaches with garlic, crush a clove and apply a sticky paste to the affected area. Alternatively, you can chew a raw garlic clove and then spit it out.
6. Clove oil has been used to treat tooth pain throughout history. It can reduce inflammation and numb oral pain. Eugenol, a natural antiseptic that can disinfect oral wounds, is also present. Apply a small amount of the oil to a clean cotton ball and dab it on the affected area to treat a toothache or tooth sensitivity. If the clove oil feels excessively strong, dilute it with a few drops of water or add the carrier oil.
