TOPIC:
IT WILL LAST.

SCRIPTURE: I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. ECCLESIASTES 3:14.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Do not be afraid for your future; if it is God who did something for you, it will last.

Our anchor scripture makes it clear that the power of God is durable in effect (Ecclesiastes 3:14). This implies that the power of God produces lasting results in the lives of people and on nations. John 8:36 corroborates that when it says, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. That is, you are irreversibly free; it is an irreversible reaction.

I came to the Lord first in 1979 but rededicated my life to God on the 12th of May 1986. Now, some of my old friends with whom we did one or two things together said to me, “We give you six weeks, you will join us again.”

At that time, I was in a higher institution, and we were about to write a major examination. So, some of them said maybe it was the fear of the examination that made me give my life to Christ. Others said that maybe I saw a girl in the fellowship, and that I was trying to impress her by giving my life to Christ. They said I would join them again after about six weeks. The six weeks have become more than 37 years now. The six weeks is yet to come and can never come because what God does is permanent and durable.

When people see how God moves in our lives, things happening effortlessly, God erecting the Glory Dome in the Lord’s Garden for Himself and people trooping to church en mass, they say, “Such things do not last; let us give them time.” The truth is, God did it by His power, so it has lasted, and it will continue to last.

Beloved, do not be afraid for your future; if it is God who did something for you, it will last. Do not be afraid for your healing or deliverance. If God healed or delivered you, it will last; no devil will bring the affliction or sickness back. Do not be afraid for your marriage, if God ordained it, it will last.

REMEMBER THIS: Do not be afraid for your future; if it is God who did something for you, it will last.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Do not entertain fear concerning what God did despite the threat of the devil.
2. Declare the Word of God and plead the Blood of Jesus over your life, family, properties and future.
3. Continuously maintain the atmosphere of God’s Presence.

Very few people really know what it takes to see their dreams and aspirations come true as a result of their tenacity in prayer. When it comes to manifesting your dreams and aspirations, there is a level of persistence each one must imbibe in order for them to see the light of the day. Unfortunately, most people give up too soon, hence they never see the birth of any significant thing in their lives. When it comes to our desires and aspirations, the Lord wants us to imbibe the attitude of the widow who constantly comes before an unjust judge for justice. The scripture records it this way, “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’” Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?(Luke 18:2‭-‬7 NLT.) The widow got justice at the end only because she kept coming back to the judge for justice. Our scriptural text for today is expressed this way in the Amplified version this way, "For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened."(Matthew 7:8 AMP.) Let's be persistent and tenacious in our asking and seeking for God's intervention, and God will surely come through for us. Good morning. God bless you. Shalom! And keep winning!!!

TOPIC:
DEVELOPING YOURSELF TO REACH THE PEAK

SCRIPTURE: Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1 TIMOTHY 4:13.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Change or promotion is not a function of age and longevity; it is a matter of choice and self-development.

Sometime ago, I heard the story of a female lecturer, who had Master’s Degree in English Language from one of the universities in Nigeria.
This lecturer had a student that passed through her tutelage. She lectured this student. After graduation, the student decided to be engaged by the same university and secured an employment as a Graduate Assistant.
From being a Graduate Assistant, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer, and then to Lecturer Two, Lecturer One, Senior Lecturer, and then he eventually became a Professor in the same English Department, where his former teacher still held a Master’s Degree.
After a while, he became the Head of that Department, much higher in rank than the female Lecturer who taught him.
You see, some people are angry that a junior person overtook them. The question to ask is, what is the junior person doing to earn such a promotion? That a vehicle is parked by the roadside does not mean others should park.
It is good to find out what people did that took them up in life.
So, change or promotion is not a function of age and longevity; it is a matter of choice and self-development. You are not promoted by virtue of just longevity, but by productivity resulting from self-development and competence.

Beloved, what is your profession in life? Are you a medical doctor, lawyer, estate agent, lecturer or a businessman or woman? Make up your mind to develop yourself and do your job to the highest level.
In your area of calling, make up your mind to invest in books and materials that will make you better.

Remember this: Change or promotion is not a function of age and longevity; it is a matter of choice and self-development.

ASSIGNMENTS:
Refuse to stop at your current level of qualification, training or learning.
Give attention to reading, training and learning. Go to school if necessary.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to give attention to learning always. Deliver me from mediocrity and stagnation, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
