"No seeds No flowers"

Creative work feels exactly like that.

Language, culture, race, nationality and history.
Creativity is one of the few things that can transcend them all.

[Intentional Colour Placement]

Designed with precision.
Applied like PLAY.

This design wasn’t planned from the beginning.

Of course, every appointment starts with a consultation. But the real magic happens throughout the process.

As we move through the service, I share the ideas that come to me while actually working on hair.
My client shares their feelings, preferences, and reactions.
Together, we shape the design in real time.

Hair colour is not a tool for expressing the colourist.

It is simply a medium for translating feelings that are often difficult to put into words.

My role is to listen, interpret, and give those feelings a visual form.

Every section has a purpose.
Every placement has intention.
But the final design is always created together.

[Bleah Work Fundamental]

A clean and effortless finish is never accidental.

Behind every seamless result is a foundation built on precision.
Thoughtful sectioning, controlled application, and attention to every detail throughout the process.

The basics may not be the most glamorous part of hair colour, but they are what create consistency, longevity, and beautiful results.

Simple doesn't mean easy.

In fact, the cleanest finishes often require the highest level of discipline and technique.

Because doing the ordinary exceptionally well is what creates something truly beautiful.

[Ghost Root Dimension]
Not all dimension has to come from highlights.

By strategically placing different tones within the root area, a hidden layer of depth and contrast is created beneath the surface.

As the hair moves and the parting changes,
different colours subtly reveal themselves,
creating an ever-changing expression throughout the design.

The result is a softer grow-out, more visual interest,
and a colour that feels unique from every angle.

Because great colour isn’t just about what you see at first glance.

It’s about what you discover over time.

When I read this client’s review saying,

“I finally got to have the colour I was never allowed to have as a child,”

it reminded me how important it is for us to truly consider the personal stories and emotions behind every guest who sits in our chair.

As technicians, we sometimes act as if the finished look is the ultimate goal.

But in reality, I believe the true purpose of hairdressing is to brighten people’s lives and make them feel happier through the experience itself.

The techniques and colour palette I created for her were simply the tools to help achieve that.

Thank you for such a beautiful moment

[Colours created with bleach & toner will always fade.]

For guests who want a cool greyish neutral tone,
I often leave a slight blue or blue-violet reflect in the final result if the client accepted.

Why?
Because as the colour fades, it helps avoid unwanted warm tones and keeps the hair looking more neutral for longer.

The finish on the day is important of course,
but understanding how the colour will evolve after you leave the salon is also a huge part of the consultation process.

Hair colour is not only about how it looks today.
It’s also about controlling what you don’t want to see during the fading process.

[Air Touch & Baby Lights]

She said,
“I’ve never been this satisfied with my hair colour before,”
was one of those moments that reminded me why I’ve dedicated my career to being a colourist.

A neutral brown finish is actually one of the easiest ways to create beautiful results, even on hair with a complicated colour history, without having to over-lift the hair with excessive bleaching.

One of the most beautiful things about hair colour is how differently it appears under indoor lighting versus natural sunlight.

[Grey Blending Naturally]

For clients who no longer want traditional grey coverage.

Grey hair is often seen as a problem.
But for a colourist, it can become the perfect white canvas — ready to hold beautiful tones without bleach.

If you want to move away from the cycle of monthly grey coverage,
let’s use that beautiful natural texture to open the door to endless colour possibilities.

The reason we can create a creamy beige like this without bleach
is because only grey hair can naturally provide this kind of soft, clean foundation.

Creativity is not only about using bold or vivid colours.

It’s about how we choose to see grey hair.

True creativity lives in that perspective and way of thinking.

[To all clients who always endure painful bleaching]

There’s a better way.

Instead of applying bleach directly onto the scalp,I apply it with an ultra-fine gap — close enough that you can barely notice it visually.

For many Japanese clients with sensitive scalps and lower tolerance to bleach, this has become a standard and highly effective technique.

Why?

Because I believe the downsides of applying bleach directly to the scalp are often greater:

• Risk of inflammation and irritation• Possibility of allergic reactions• Increased risk of breakage during future retouch appointments

Especially when fragile scalp-area hair is repeatedly lifted to blonde.

Of course, this is a recommendation — not an absolute rule.

Every client’s scalp condition, hair history, goals, and tolerance are different. The best approach should always be decided together through consultation.

Beautiful blonde should never come at the cost of unnecessary pain.

So honoured to be selected as a finalist in the International colour genius category.

Thank you

I’m truly grateful for this recognition and this means a lot to me as a colourist who has no scissors.

In April, my family and I relocated from Tokyo, Japan to the Netherlands here, and London now feels much closer both geographically and creatively.

I deeply value every opportunity to connect with global artists and educators, and I will continue dedicating myself every day to being a colourist who is truly needed by the clients who trust me and by the people around me.

Respect and congratulations to all the finalists.
