Have you been in a situation where you feel there is so much choice out there but yet you feel something is missing to make you complete and special? Have you felt the abundance of choice just dilutes your vision? Have you felt unheard and gently led into the general consumer profile? Well, let me tell you this is not unusual and it is totally fine to want to be you and to look unique at your most

To all of you who voted for this hat last week I wanted to say huge THANK YOU. Your messages and encouragement mean so much to me and more importantly they have filled me up with new creative energy which I can’t wait to use towards new designs. ⁣⠀
⁣⠀
A few years ago when I launched my first collection I already sensed my vision on what I see as bridal headwear was changing and maturing in a way I didn’t initially expect. I felt the modern bride should be given a choice in headwear which is beyond the jewelry style ( nothing wrong with this style!).However, I couldn’t really articulate my vision. I was scared and had complete lack of confidence. Scared because I cared what others would say and think and not confident because I didn’t have the set of skills I needed to make it happen. So I took my time to study millinery books, practiced a lot and repeat again. Finally after many trials and errors I feel my vision is starting to take shape and this headpiece design is a reflection of it. Hat making is such a great creative subject that can bring immense fulfilment not only for the designer but also for the wearer. I feel not enough is said about millinery and I want to change this. So if you have a question on hat styling or millinery let me know, I would love to help! ⁣⠀
⁣⠀
This is my first ever international millinery competition that I took part in and although I didn’t win I thoroughly enjoyed creating a hat design based on a given topic. Thank you for hosting us and I cannot wait to read more about the winning designs in the next magazine.⁣⠀

Meet Isabelle. She is a beautiful hair comb for the modern bride who looks to adorn her wedding look with a minimalistic yet stylish accessory. Each of the 3 silk flower is carefully cut, pressed, stitched and wired onto the hair comb in organic shape. The beaded centers for each flower adds elegant accent to the bridal headpiece. If you are looking for an ultra feminine, minimalistic bridal hair piece which completes your wedding look, look no further. Isabelle is the perfect choice! ⠀

Pretty blossoms in white are on my work table. It has been a while since I last made some silk flowers. It reminded me how much I enjoy the whole process of cutting, shaping the petals and putting them together. More to to follow up soon... ⁣⠀

So I can finally share with you my entry for the first international millinery competition I am taking part in. This is UNCHAINED and it is inspired Byrne design concept EQUILIBRIUM. if you like my hat I would hugely appreciate your vote here https://hatalk.com/2019_comp_entry/polina-steven/

My interpretation of Equilibrium is to have a calm state of mind. Achieving balance within ourselves seems to be the ultimate goal that many want to reach. Yet, few are able to free themselves from the chains of our own perceptions and stigmas heavily influenced by today’s society. In this regard, I wanted to create a modern headpiece that shows in a playful way the underlying pure state of mind in contrast with the hurdles presented in life.

I chose a neutral ivory tone as the basis of the hat with a round shape that represents the pure perfect oneself with a clear mind. On top I wanted to create a striking contrast with gold chains which portray the life chains that are holding us back from achieving the balance. These untangled chains are a symbol of the hope and belief that there is a way to break away from them and achieve the ultimate balance one searches for.
