The Power of One Smile

Becoming a mom was a conscious decision. My husband and I had been working towards it for a long time, dreaming and preparing. But the reality of motherhood turned out to be nothing like what I had imagined. In my mind, it all seemed so simple: by two months the baby would already be sleeping in his own room and almost ready for school. Ha-ha, how naïve that was!

In reality, it’s sleepless nights, crying, and endless questions with no clear answers… Sometimes it feels like my brain is going to explode from all the new and overwhelming things. You no longer belong to yourself — your whole world revolves around the baby, and the only little “window of freedom” you get is when he finally falls asleep.

There are days so tough that you think, “I just can’t do this anymore.” But then your baby suddenly smiles at you — and in that moment everything changes. Your heart melts, and you realize: this is worth absolutely everything. This is the best thing that could have ever happened in life.
