10 October was World Homeless Day https://www.worldhomelessday.org/ Here’s some very sad statistics in NZ from an Orange Sky article… https://orangesky.org.nz/types-of-homelessness/ Maybe today we can pause and be grateful for what we personally have! It is also a very appropriate day to share what Mark and I along with a group of others have been working on and about to launch…. Take7… an initiative providing comfortable, practical clothing to people experiencing hardship and/or homelessness in our communities. We recognise that while food, showers and laundry services are often available through support networks, clothing can be limited. That’s where Take7 steps in. We collect quality clothing and then take our mobile wardrobe truck to community hubs where individuals are invited on a one-to-one basis to take up to 7 items. It’s more than just clothing - it’s a moment for Manaakitanga (respect, generosity and care) and a good kōrerorero (chat).
