First time lip filler at .aesthetics Immediately before and after treatment 🫶🏼

This patient wanted her cupids bow rounded, with a preference for central height rather than sharp and accentuated GK points.

And we also had mild asymmetry to work with, seeing that one side of the upper lip is naturally more sloped, and the other more rounded.

Dr Tom Van Eijk travelled from the Netherlands to teach techniques that focus on improving skin quality - with new rules, rationale and science that I would’ve never guessed without his direct guidance.

I had attempted similar techniques before, but these results are just an absolute testament to how important it is to invest in education.

Right before I perform lip filler on someone, I always tell the patient “when you look in the mirror after, I want your lips to look slightly overdone”. 👄

If they look absolutely perfect after treatment, we have a problem - because they WILL change over the next 14-28 days.

Another anecdote you might hear me talking about is to remind yourself how much inflammation you cause when you squeeze a spot (even just once). You create a whole mountain of inflammation, right? So please expect swelling and redness if we’re creating many mountains of inflammation… with a needle. 🫣

Resting, Raising & Frowning ⛅️
