Natural black hair is not easy to lift — especially when it’s thick, coarse, and strong.

For this colour, we worked with her natural base instead of forcing the hair into something unrealistic. No bleach was used, but we still managed to soften the darkness and create a more translucent light brown.

If your hair is naturally black and you don’t want bleach, you can still go lighter — but you need to choose the right tone. Warm browns, soft pink browns, rose browns, and cool natural browns are usually more realistic than cool ash, silver, or very pale colours.
