🤩 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🤩

We now have a part-time clinic dog in-training!
Please be patient while Molly learns the ropes at the clinic, but she is already getting really good at hanging out in her crate. Not so great at quiet introductions yet, she is super excited to meet all of you and has a hard time keeping her excitement contained.

She is a very cute 7 month old rescue pup (not the dog in the first picture) so prepare yourself for more clinic dog content. She will most likely be in the clinic Tuesday - Thursday, so if you want some no-dog time, there are lots of appointments available on Fridays 😁

Event massage or working with teams isn’t as glamorous as you may expect. There’s always a lot of waiting around, finding car parking, lugging all your gear around, working out of sometimes cramped or otherwise less than ideal spaces, and surviving on sugar and caffeine. I never remember to take photos for social media, so here are some from working with some other amazing massage therapists yesterday, on the also amazing while they are in Christchurch. Great team, great atmosphere, not a hassle 😍

Today’s post is just a wee vent. Some of the coolest clients I have had over the years are the ones I see outside of the clinic room, with terminal illness. I usually see these clients for lymphatic drainage, and it can be in their own homes, hospital, hospice, or other care facilities. Usually near the end of their life it is no longer about lymphatic drainage, or regular massage, but about human connection, and gentle human touch that isn’t someone coming at them with a needle or any other medical equipment. All of these amazing clients let me into their lives at one of the most vulnerable times of their life, and share their stories, experiences, families and laughs with me, and each one of them becomes a new piece of my heart. So weeks like this one become the hardest part of my job, when I learn that another one has passed. However, the connection, laughs, and comfort I can bring are the best parts of my job. So this one is for Scott.
