This week I got to spend time in Heriot with the beautiful Elsa 🫶
We created her locs in March and this was her first maintenance sesh.
Elsa is a spinal energetics practitioner in Heriot, Dunedin and online.
If you haven’t heard of spinal energetics before, I highly recommend you reach out to Elsa.
Her sessions have been profound for me, allowing beautiful space hold to release and integrate 🙌

✨Loc Nest Dread Maintenance & Install Ts&Cs✨
My current rate:
$30/hour at The Nest
$40/hour if I travel to you
This rate applies to both maintenance and dreadlock installs.
Please note that any extensions, add-ins, temporary pieces, beads, or additional stock are an extra cost.
Time Guide
- 1 hour: Basic maintenance tidy-up or 1/4 head (e.g. drullet or peekaboo locs)
- 2 hours: Full head maintenance
Starter locs vary in time depending on the thickness and length of your hair, your preferred loc thickness, and whether you’re wanting a few locs or a full head. We will discuss all of these details before your appointment and decide on a plan of action together
I ask that you arrive with clean, dry hair. If your hair is damp, some of your appointment time may be used for drying to protect the integrity of your dreads and the tools used
When you arrive, I begin with a gentle energetic cleansing, moving sage and palo santo through your hair and energetic field. This is a moment to clear, reset, and arrive fully-creating a grounded, intentional space before we begin the work
I honour both time and quality. While I aim to stay within our agreed timeframe, I am detail-focused, and sometimes the work asks for a little more presence. We will connect at the beginning of your session to align on whether you’d like a full tidy-up or to work within a set timeframe

What an honour to connect with Terina & her Mama
We began with arriving

Kōrero of what Terina wanted to achieve in our 2 hr appointment

Re-sectioning as I work from bottom to top so my beautiful client has beautiful clean, clear sections for her knatty dreads 🤩
Terina had a couple of thicky thick sections creeping over to others, I love when this happens because I get to play and create 🪡
I re sectioned the loose hair, decreased the size of the loc and created a new one. I transplanted the length of this thick loc that was thin at the bottom, onto the new loc …
