✨ Microneedling & Corneotherapy
"Doesn't Microneedling damage the skin barrier?"
It's a question I hear often.
The difference lies in where your therapist needles and how they perform the treatment.
When performed correctly, Microneedling triggers a controlled inflammatory response, which is essential for wound healing. This process encourages the release of growth factors, increases circulation, and supports the skin's natural repair and regeneration mechanisms.
Rather than working against the skin, Corneotherapeutic Microneedling works with the skin's natural processes to improve function, resilience, and overall skin health.
Healthy skin isn't achieved by fighting the skin it's achieved by understanding how to work with it. 🤍

✨ Now is the ideal time of year for Skin Needling!
As we head into the cooler months, your skin has the opportunity to focus on repair, renewal, and regeneration without the additional stress of strong UV exposure.
Microneedling is one of my favourite treatments because it works with the skin's natural healing processes to stimulate collagen production and support healthier skin function over time.
Benefits may include:
✨ Improved skin texture and smoothness
✨ Increased collagen and elastin production
✨ Reduction in acne scarring and post-inflammatory marks
✨ Improved skin tone and clarity
✨ Support for pigmentation concerns
✨ Refined pores
✨ Stronger, healthier, more resilient skin
What I love most about Microneedling is that it's not about creating quick fixes. It's about encouraging your skin to regenerate and function at its best, creating results that continue to improve over the weeks and months following treatment.
The best time to start a Microneedling series is now, giving your skin time to build strength and resilience through winter and reveal the benefits by spring and summer.
As with all treatments at Aura Beauty, proper skin preparation is essential. Healthy, well-prepared skin will always achieve better outcomes than skin that isn't ready for the treatment.
If you've been curious about Microneedling and whether it's suitable for your skin, I'd love to help.

Freshly needled and a little pink! ✨
This is me immediately after my Exceed Microneedling treatment. While the redness is temporary, the real magic happens over the weeks that follow as the skin begins its natural repair and regeneration process.
Winter is one of my favourite times of year for Microneedling. With lower UV exposure, it's the perfect season to invest in treatments that focus on long-term skin health and rejuvenation.
Microneedling can help to:
✨ Improve skin texture and smoothness
✨ Soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
✨ Support collagen and elastin production
✨ Improve acne scarring and post-inflammatory marks
✨ Refine enlarged pores
✨ Brighten and even skin tone
✨ Support healthier, more resilient skin
What I love most is that Microneedling works with the skin's natural repair mechanisms. It's not about forcing change it's about encouraging the skin to regenerate and function at its best.
The best results come from a series of treatments, which is why now is the ideal time to start. Begin your journey through winter and enjoy stronger, healthier, more radiant skin heading into spring and summer.
Not every skin is ready for Skin Needling straight away. If you're curious about the treatment, send me a message and we can discuss the best pathway for your skin. 🤍

💗 A small ask that means a lot
When you leave a review, like a post, or even just follow my page it genuinely helps my little business more than you know.
As a solo, owner-operated skin studio, I don’t have a big marketing team behind me. Your support is what helps other people find me, trust me, and feel confident booking in.
Even a quick Google review, a share, or a simple like helps keep Aura Beauty growing and allows me to keep doing what I love most helping people feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
If you’ve ever been in my treatment room, thank you for being here. I don’t take that trust lightly 🤍

One of the questions I get asked is why I don’t offer dermaplaning, microdermabrasion or peels.
The answer is simple: my focus is skin barrier health.
While these treatments can create a short-term smooth feeling, they aren’t aligned with the corneotherapy approach I take in clinic.
Instead, I choose enzyme exfoliation to gently encourage the removal of surface skin cells that are already ready to shed. This supports the skin’s natural processes without forcing them.
When we remove cells that aren’t ready to be shed, we risk disrupting the skin barrier, allowing hydration to escape and potential irritants to enter.
My goal isn’t to chase quick fixes.
My goal is to support healthy, resilient skin that functions well for the long term.
Healthy skin doesn’t need to be forced. It needs to be supported. 🌿
Have you ever had a treatment that left your skin feeling tight, sensitive or reactive afterwards soon afterwards?

Pigmentation does not appear from nowhere there is always an underlying driver.
Identifying those triggers is one of the first steps in creating an effective corneotherapy treatment plan and supporting long-term skin health 🤍
Common triggers can include:
✨ UV exposure
✨ Inflammation
✨ Hormonal fluctuations
✨ Heat
✨ Oxidative stress
✨ Barrier damage
More often than not, pigmentation is influenced by a combination of factors rather than just one.
This is why understanding your skin as a whole is so important, rather than simply trying to “lighten” pigmentation alone.

Pigmentation is a common skin concern I see in clinic and also one of the most misunderstood.
In simple terms, pigmentation refers to the colour of your skin. But it’s much more than a cosmetic concern. Pigmentation is actually one of the skin’s natural protective responses a complex biological process designed to defend the skin from perceived stress or injury.
It can present as:
• Sun spots
• Melasma
• Post-inflammatory marks after acne or injury
• General uneven skin tone
Pigmentation can affect all skin types and all Fitzpatrick phototypes.
Understanding why pigmentation develops is the first step toward supporting healthier, more resilient skin 🤍
