Most people don’t realise there’s a big difference between massage and remedial massage 💜

Remedial massage isn’t just about relaxing (although that can be part of it). It’s about working with your body in a more informed, intentional way.

In New Zealand, being a **qualified remedial massage therapist** means we’ve trained in things like anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and injury management.

So we’re not just learning *how* to massage — we’re learning:
• how muscles, joints, and fascia all work together
• how injuries happen and how they heal
• how pain can show up in one place but come from somewhere else
• how to adapt treatment to each individual body

For me, that means your session isn’t a routine.

I’m always paying attention to what your body is telling me — how it’s holding tension, where it’s compensating, what might be contributing to what you’re feeling.

Treatment might include a mix of techniques depending on what you need — deeper work, gentle release, movement, or just creating enough safety for your body to actually let go.

I also intentionally start every session the same way, with you lying face up. It’s a small thing, but it creates space for you to settle, feel safe, and communicate if you need to — rather than just being “worked on.”

Remedial massage isn’t about pushing through pain or doing the same thing every time.
It’s about working *with* your body, building trust, and supporting real, lasting change.

If you’ve been unsure what kind of massage you actually need, or wondering why things haven’t quite improved — you’re always welcome to reach out and ask 💜
