Swelling in the heat: getting rid of with nutrition and exercise
With the onset of summer, often the feet stop getting into your favorite shoes, and the face is noticeably rounded. It's all the fault of edema. They are not always a dangerous symptom of the disease. The expert tells about why there is swelling, and how to cope with it.

Swelling occurs due to improper outflow of lymph. The violation can be caused by problems with posture, stooping, entailing tightness of the diaphragm, through which blood and lymphatic vessels pass. If the muscles spasm, the flow of lymph is disrupted, and edema occurs.

In hot weather, especially with high humidity, it is more difficult for a person to breathe: the air becomes denser, there is less oxygen in it, so the diaphragm experiences an even greater spasm. It increases when, due to a violation of posture, the chest is compressed. Tissue nutrition deteriorates, intercellular fluid is not excreted with lymph — and all this is projected on the body.

In addition to spasm of the diaphragm, the cause of edema may be non-compliance with the drinking regime. If a person does not consume enough clean water, the concentration of salts in the blood increases, and the fluid is retained in the body.

But puffiness can also be caused by heavy drinking if the water is of poor quality. The volume of blood increases, but due to sweating, the content of mineral salts in it remains the same or decreases. Water from the cell is discharged into the intercellular space, and the body becomes puffy.

Carbohydrate foods also contribute to fluid retention in the body: bakery products, sweets, potatoes, fruits. They increase the level of insulin and antidiuretic hormone in the blood. The latter is produced by the hypothalamus and helps control blood pressure by affecting the kidneys and blood vessels. As a result, the electrolyte balance is disturbed. Potassium from the cells is excreted into the intercellular fluid, and sodium is intensively absorbed in the kidneys, attracting water.

To get rid of edema, you need to establish a drinking regime. Thirst is the best guide: you need to drink when you want. But the water should not be empty. The presence of a complex of mineral and organic substances dissolved in it, gases, colloids, ions is mandatory.

Tap water and the kind sold in plastic bottles or in barrels on tap are not suitable for maintaining electrolyte balance in the body. It undergoes several degrees of purification, including chemicals, so it loses most of the useful elements.

To find good quality water, you will have to try it from different sources. If you or your friends or neighbors have a well, the problem is solved. Such water is truly alive and healthy.

Drink it when the desire arises, and watch the amount of urination. More than 7-10 times a day indicates an excess of fluid in the body. If there is enough water, the urine has a light straw color. In case of lack of moisture, it darkens.

Correction of the menu will also help to get rid of puffiness. Reduce the amount of carbohydrate products. Be careful with salt: do not exclude it, but do not abuse it. Remember about the "golden mean", and then even in the heat you will feel great.

Exercises for edema
Breathing exercises, mobility of the thoracic region relieve spasms of the diaphragm, normalize lymph flow. Equipment for classes is not necessary. But, if there is an elastic band, it can become a faithful companion on the way to a healthy lifestyle.

Feel the breath
Take the starting position on your back, legs bent at the knees.
Put your right hand on the diaphragm area, your left hand on your stomach.
Slowly inhale and exhale. Feel how both hands are raised on the inhale, the chest expands. On exhalation, they descend.
If one of the departments is not involved in the process, it is necessary to work with it. Any violations of the respiratory cycle provoke spasms and cause swelling. Try to breathe separately with your chest or stomach. Then turn on both departments. Make sure that the muscles of the back, lower back, and pelvic floor also work.

Breathing exercise, chest mobility and TBS
Take a position on your side, legs bent at the knees. Raise yourself on the supporting arm so that the elbow forms a right angle. You can not fall over or pull the pelvis back. The body is a straight line.
Take a deep breath so that the chest, abdomen and pelvic floor muscles take part in the process. At the same time, pull your free leg back a little. On the exhale, return it to its previous position.
Next, connect the rotation of the chest towards the supporting arm: the waist remains stationary. Do the exercise several times, and then repeat on the other side.

If the swelling is not caused by a serious illness, it is quite simple to get rid of them. Observe a drinking regime, reduce the amount of carbohydrate products and regularly perform breathing exercises. Then you will be cheerful and energetic in the heat.
